Blue Jays @ Yankees. Bet the over. No pitching to be found on these two teams.

he needs a reason to hate the eichel trade
- Mentalorgasm5

Lol, those reasons are easy.

At least I didn’t double and triple down on Cozens being a 4th liner.

That’s looking swell as he’s closing in on 50 points as a 20 year old on the third line

Hockey games are also won by the talented team which is totally prepared and putting in all of the work (on and off ice) required to take the next steps forward towards team success.
Culture is a lot more than “wanting to be here”. You out of hand dismiss it without really considering all of the the things it entails. That’s cool, you just don’t see it.

It's interesting in that before the season, many had the Sabres as a low 60-something team, and envisioned a top 5 pick...all indicative of a roster without alot of talent. No one figured Skinner and Tage as 30 G scorers, nor Dahlin developing as far as he has, or Okposo near 20 Gs (although a certain poster did think Gargleson would pot 25).
Point is, the players bought into a new mindset inside the locker room ... they have said it, the coaches have said it...one in which they fight for each other, challenge each other, help each other and also friends off the ice. All that has made them better individually and collectively.
That is important. Now they hopefully inject some additional talent in the form of young rookies and hopefully a couple of talented Vets who are good teammates and have some additional leadership qualities to continue to build the culture and talent level. Win win.

Florida’s top pair of Weegar-Ekblad probably would have been Team Canada’s if they went to the Olympics.

Barkov is an elite 200 foot 1C, Huberdeau is elite offensively and is one of the best playmakers in the sport.

Their analytics department identified Verhaege and he’s given them top 6 production on a bargain. Duclair and Bennett are having strong seasons.

Lundell is a poor mans Barkov, and now they have a high end 200 foot forward in Reinhart popping off for a point a game playing on the third line.

They have the most talented team in the East, that’s why they are good.

If they didn’t have talent, they would be Buffalo talking about how great the culture is meanwhile getting fed their lunch the last week.

They're a low 60 something team right now with 63 points.

Guesses at how many points they finish the season with?

I'm guessing 71.

You also have to be lucky and hit on picks like Weegar, and make trades for talent that hasn’t poppped like Bennett.

They did it exactly right outside the Bob signing

Pretty amazing where they are considering that signing and its impact on their cap.

That Lundell pick will pay off big time.

I'm hoping for 63 and some luck they get passed in the standings by 2 - 3 teams.

Is there a difference between the talent level at say 5 - 10.?
Probably not huge, no...but there certainly is a difference in Position and style of play...two critical elements when picking...IMO of course. Don't need a LhD there, but could certainly use another C as an example

Sabres really need to fix the Right side of there D. Your offense can't get a rhythm going if you can't get out of your own end. Sabres have the chance to have one of the best LD in the league with
Dahlin
Samuelsson
Powers
Go and fix your RD and the offense will come and your Goalie's won't be shaking there heads all the time.

Amazing thing about draft picks, is that some may view them as an asset in a trade.

Amazing concept, but you don’t necessarily have to use the picks to draft players. They can be used for example to acquire a Brett Kulak, Andrew Cogliano, Mason Appleton.

Mind blown right ?

Another crazy thing, the players we held on to, have 8 games left and most of not all will never wear a Sabres sweater again.

Craziness

- Pegullaville

Hi, I definitely understand your point. Why not gather up every pick we can for players that won’t be here next season, I have 1 question. Do you think that reaching the cap floor played a big issue during the trade deadline?

And if they didn’t have a winning culture around them, they’d be a talented team wondering why the next step seems so elusive. Idk why you insist on trying to separate the two. They go hand in hand. The argument is not, and has never been, that culture will make up for a lack of talent. It’s really not that hard to understand.

You are hoping for an 0-8 finish, which would mean they'll end the season on an 11 game losing streak?

Buddy of mine took 3+ home runs over the weekend and hit em.... will do the same vs the Yanks. Also take basically any 3 hitters with 2+ total bases.
