I definitely wanted Duclair and Tkachuk. Duclair's been a very good middle 6 F for the past 3 years. Did not want Duchene's contract. Faulk was pretty junk until last year. Good for him. Tarasenko I'd have taken a flier on for sure. Kaprizov I don't know if anyone said his contract was bad. He was a fantastic player even as a "rookie".

People definitely were saying all of that. A few of us had the wandavision

He put on a show.

“By the time the final horn sounded, FL owned mammoth advantages in shot attempts (95-37), scoring chances (55-19) and high-danger shot attempts (22-6), per NaturalStatTrick.com. With numbers like that, players knew it was only a matter of time until they broke through.”
“Setting a franchise record with 52 saves in a losing effort, the Ducks goaltender looked nearly unbeatable at times. Standing tall against Florida's top-ranked offense, he gobbled up 11 of the 12 high-danger shots that came toward his crease, including several highlight-reel robberies”

The visiting goalie given the second star of the game.

This performance follows the earlier game this season where Gibson faced down another Panthers onslaught for 60 minutes.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a dork. He's clear and away the MVP this year, especially with Barkov being injured for 20 or so games and him still putting up McDavid numbers.

I'd love to see a Florida/Colorado rematch in the Finals.

I can make a case for 7 guys. Nobody has run away with the Hart this year

Matthews is having the best season quite possibly seen in the last 20 years.

Guy has 51 goals in his last 51 games with elite defensive impacts.

I’d say it’s his to lose

If the price is right regarding the contract, would Mason Marchment from the Panthers be a good UFA addition as a winger?

He's got size, skill, and he's not afraid to mix it up.

Looks like he can play LW and RW.

Hart trophy is awarded to the most valuable player to their team.

Not who has the best individual season

Take Hubredeau off Florida still a top team in the league.

Take Matthews off Toronto they're probably sitting at like 8th.

Take Mcdavid or Gaudreau off their respective teams and they aren't even in the playoffs.

Idk how much of a raise he will expect, or how much the Panthers can give him. He very well might become available. KA makes a calculated risk with a little overpay, FL might not be able to match.

While that's true by definition, it rarely comes to fruition in reality. The Hart Trophy is voted on by the media, which means they vote on the player that is the best story. For that reason, Auston Matthews will win it in a landslide. The same goes for the Conn Smythe.

They typically get the Conn Smyth right, as for the Hart though you are right on the button.

I am not the media though so I make my personal choice as per the definition that is given to said trophy. Not the best story or the best individual season. Then I forget about it

All of the above is why I brought his name up.

I have a difficult time believing he'll repeat the production he had this season for next season.

Especially when he'd be coming to our roster and not on a stacked team where its easy to put up points.
