Ullmark last year, isolated, was better than Gibson this year. - TheSabresTaco
Hell, I'd take Linus over CA and UPL. |

I'd be shocked if they do an 'all in' trade for a goalie.
SHOCKED.

Gibson wouldn't cost much IMO because it's part salary dump for Anaheim. |

It seems like the natural way to get more points, so does that mean you think the tank will live on for one more year as Gerbs suggested before? |

Brace yourselves for a trade for Quick and Seabrook. - TheSabresTaco
Hopefully Quick is either free or comes with an additional asset, like a pick. |

I mean yeah. Just wanted to offer a base comparison. So if folks didn't like Linus, Gibson is going to likely offer you the same.
Of course, goalies are voodoo and watch age 33 Gibson win the Vezina for (frank) sakes. But the past 3 years he's been, well.. Ullmark.

depends on how you define tank. my definition is probably different than what other people perceive the Sabres are doing. But if yours is 'go all out to win no matter what', then yes, they'll tank next year.

For sure, i just want an NHLer for 50 reliable games. The games where CA wasn't fatigued or injured and the regular backup starts from Ticker have been fine. I want that for 82 games between UPL (32) and real NHLer (50).

Quick's actually been pretty good this year. It's been his best year since 17-18. Considering Cal is their future, I think he can be had for a 3rd and a Laaksy.

That's who I asked Marty about today. He said, for sure Anaheim is up againt the cap, and they will try and move him. He personally doesn't like the way Gibson plays goal, but it makes sense he says. - lacaprup
Anaheim is up against which cap? The floor or the ceiling? |

They can get pieces for Quick. Cal is their future and are paying him 5M next year. They won't be forced to move him but they won't re-sign him, might as well get something in the offseason.
Trading for Quick makes a ton of sense if no premier assets are required.

The "best" guys are going to want multi-year deals, which Adams will for sure not do. So if you go UFA, you're signing a plug or a proovie deal. Campbell or Vanacek maybe hits that catty. Trading for a high(er) end RFA spells the end of one of Levi or Ports. Probably the latter.
I suspect they trade for a guy like Quick. 1-2 years, bloated contract, limited commitment. Perfect guy to pair with UPL. Tokarski or similar to sign a 1 year deal to take some Rochester minutes and be G3. - TheSabresTaco
What do you consider a multi-year deal? More than one season? More than two?
Why would Adams for sure not bring in a goalie on a 2 or 3 year deal? |
