Offensive zone faceoff loss by Mitts is followed up by terrific pressure from both Asplund and Vic on the left and right sides respectively. This forces both St. Louis D (55 and 47) to throw the puck around the boards without a clue who was going to get it. Joker gets it and immediately shoots. Asplund cirles towards the front and puts a Vanekesque deflection out there.

7:00 left in the 1st, almost all Sabres. - lacaprup
St. Louis rights thier ship for the last minutes. They even it out, not take over by any means. The Eakin penalty was a Busch League call, as was the Power call. There were three highsticks and miltiple crosschecks in there. It's called a corner puck battle.
#48 in zebra stripes is a (frank)ing female genitalia.
Cozens, Z, Dahlin and Joker on to kill the remainder of penalty 2. Branden Saad wins a puck battle over Z. Pass, pass, CA is beaten on a clean look.
Thanks, Zebras, you and St. LOouis are tied up.
Edit: Dahlin could have played that better. He chased a bit. As time goes by, he'll learn that. - lacaprup
Still a lot of growing pains to be had, lot of young players, but the great thing is you can see the growth. Donnie still is learning to, but he has done a fantastic job of growing some of these players. The confidence and mindset he has given them.
Another nice shift: 18:30 - 17:50 for the Mitts line. Begins with an neutral zone draw loss for Mitts and is (again) follwed with a solid forecheck by Asplund on the left, which forces a quick D to D pass, and guess who - Vic - is there to forecheck the right and steal the puck. They get a shot and hold the puck in until 18:10 when St. Louis gets a desperation clear, and then right back into the St Louis zone and a line change.
Offensive zone faceoff at 16:00. There's a left wall battle for the puck: Skinner, Tage and a couple blues. The pucks squirts to Tuch at the top of the left circle and he makes about a 300° rotation without slowing and fires a pass to Skinner, right on the tape, as Skinner rushes the net. Skinner gets absolutely, call the cops, robbed blind.
After the Sabres 2nd goal the Blues have gotten noticeably more physical in three shifts. Not dominating play or anything, but finishing every check. I'm guessing they got an earful after Tuch scored.
