Culture be damned, the more high end talent you have, the better your team.

- Pegullaville

As I said in the post you replied to with this, No one ever said culture will overcome lack of good players. Obviously the more high end talent you have the better your team... who ever implied culture replaces talent?

The whole point being that when two evenly highly talented teams meet, the one with the (mystical) better “culture of winners” will come out on top more often than not.

So......you want 5th, 6th, 7th round picks that might play for us in 3 or 4 years, if they even make it to the NHL? The lengths you'll go to double down on your bullpoop is astounding. Weissback can't crack the Sabres and 71 took 5 years to play for us full-time.
- kaleta36

Same could be said of 1st 2nd 3rd 4th rnd picks. No it's getting a asset for someone who won't be here anymore.

Tuch is the kind of player we've wanted for a long time. High effort, physical, two way, with some offense...and relatively hometown. Are people ever going to turn on that?
- Lunaion

I would hope not.

So Elliott now has 5 shut-outs in 25 starts against us.

It's self-fulfilling. Whoever wins is then dubbed to have great culture.

It seems like Adams was perfectly content doing the bare minimum this coming offseason.

Maybe the bloom coming off the rose a bit is a good thing as it could be the impetus for him to do more than virtually nothing.

Amazing thing about draft picks, is that some may view them as an asset in a trade.

Amazing concept, but you don’t necessarily have to use the picks to draft players. They can be used for example to acquire a Brett Kulak, Andrew Cogliano, Mason Appleton.

Mind blown right ?

Another crazy thing, the players we held on to, have 8 games left and most of not all will never wear a Sabres sweater again.

You're so upset, what if these scrubs had zero trade interest?

Seriously who's adding eakin , miller or butcher.

I'm sure you're gonna be an excellent father though 🙂

And how is that determined exactly ?

Tom Brady just got his former coach to hand in his resignation. A man he won a SB with two years ago. Mainstream media will argue the contrary though

How come I’m only hearing about all these things about Russell Wilson in the Seahawks locker room now that he’s been traded ? Didn’t hear a peep while the Seahawks had one of the more successful decade long runs in NFL history.

Kucherov and a Tampa Bay assistant coach got in a fist fight in Round 1 of their first cup win. Won’t probably hear about that for a decade.

We can measure player impacts, we can only speculate on “culture”. What GM or coach wouldn’t gush about team camaraderie
in news conferences ? It’s typical hockey speak.

I stated in my initial comment to you tonight that it wasn’t about a bunch of Boy Scouts who are all best buddies with each other.
You can only observe the team and how they conduct their business on and off the ice, you can’t quantify it on a spread sheet.

The last time the board was going around and round about culture I posted about what it all referred to, imo, mostly based on changes I’ve watched Zito make in the Panthers. I’m not doing all of that again, you pretty obviously didn’t bother to read the first time.

Man, this seems pretty poopty by the Leafs arena people. They could’ve somehow made arrangements for the kid to come get the stick back after the game. Blow Leafs

Is it though?

Hockey games are won due to talent and a certain degree of luck.

Talent leads to winning leads to “culture”.

All I have heard about the last month is how good the “culture” is and how guys want to be here and win here in Buffalo.

Only a few of us defended that Quinn pick.

Hockey games are also won by the talented team which is totally prepared and putting in all of the work (on and off ice) required to take the next steps forward towards team success.
Culture is a lot more than “wanting to be here”. You out of hand dismiss it without really considering all of the the things it entails. That’s cool, you just don’t see it.
