Interesting can’t find anything anything from the Chicago scribes, but the Kings announcers talked about King talking about the system changes he would make in the neutral and defensive zones. But since he is an interim, he hasn’t attempted to make them, except for the little tweaks he has made.

There is not much said straight up about forwards helping dmen on break outs.

But I do know that subtracting DeHahn and Gus with replacements should mean we are not as bad.

With McCabe I've heard the talk about give him until next year to recover fully from the injury/surgery. Fine, I will be watching closely next season. I don't know moving his contract would be likely, anyway, so I will hope for better performance.

Let us just hope some of the prospects turn out pretty good.

Why isn't Davidson more interested in talking Wise to sign..Why does Wise seemingly want to shop himself; he seemed like he was buddies with some Blackhawk players during summer scrimmages etc al.

Our next opponent, the LA Kings, have employed four rookies on their blueline and have won often enough to still be in the playoff chase

Obviously the rookies are receiving better coaching as well as a better team effort, defensively, than the nightmare witnessed by Blackhawk fans this season..

The Kings also have.Kopitar and Daneault as centers so that alone is better than Chicago

I think that Sox campaign was during the Manuel years around the start of Konerko, Lee, Ordóñez, Garland and the beloved Mark Buehrle. Those teams didn't amount to much. One playoff appearance maybe and then mediocre all around. Combination of being too in love with some prospects and Jerry not willing to spend money where he needed to. Mainly Jerry not spending money.

They won the WS after those guys could no longer be considered young (Lee and Mags were not with the team anymore) and after acquiring veterans that all happened to have career years. Don Cooper also worked some serious witchcraft on that pitching staff where everyone in the bullpen had a career year (or close to it) and the starters were lights out. A lot of weird stuff went right. Like Pods hitting walk-off dingers.

Anyway - There was a very clear direction with both iterations of those White Sox teams.
1. Jerry is cheap so lets run a bunch of kids out there so get excited because anything can happen and don't spend any money
2. We have a very good core and hopefully Kenny gets lucky with some moves to round it out to win now because Jerry is cheap

This Blackhawks team has not had a clear vision or identity the past 5 years. They need to figure out the type of team they want to be, get players that fit that identity and a coach that can work with that.

Obviously they have made some organizational changes and they're going to be a poopty mess until they can get rid of the veterans and hockey opps people that don't fit the vision. Probably won't be resolved in one off season. Its gonna be a painful few years regardless of who is the coach.
