Yeah who knows. With our roster construction our best bet might just be going up against the worst possible goalie and just seeing what happens. Problem is that Jarry looks predictably burnt out and nothing might matter anymore. Not sure there's a team heading into the playoffs more sure fire to be a first round exit than the Pens right now.

Hopefully Desmith stays healthy and Sullivan at least has an option.

We still have a team where the 2nd best D man has to stick up for the 1st best d man though. Just play boys.

Zohorna and Angello back to WBS. McGinn must have been cleared. Doubt they would make that move with a Malkin suspension looming.

I can't remember the last time the Pens have been this dysfunctional heading into the playoffs. Maybe it'll have the opposite effect of the times we've looked like a well oiled machine down the stretch and then completely faceplanted.
- Victoro311

2017. They played absolutely horrible in the weeks before those playoffs started. This is the least confident I've been with them headed into playoffs since that year. That's not to say I thought they were favorites to go all the way in any of the years since 2016 but for a number of reasons I had no confidence in them doing much in those playoffs. How terrible and dysfunctiononal they were the 3ish weeks before was one of those reasons.

I'm guessing Heinen comes out.

You would certainly hope so. Hopefully they give Malkin an ultimatum, take what you’re actually worth at this point in your career or look elsewhere.

Yeah take your point per game play somewhere else.

Hell be 36 at the start of his next contract and has had a ton of injuries the last few years. What are the rumors for the next contract?

Fancy stats be damned I have missed McGinn in the bottom 6. Just seemed to make a lot of smart under the radar plays and always battled hard with speed.

He himself said he's already rich and other things that definitely make it seem like his cap hit will be dropping.

It's certainly not going to be a cap hit of 9.5.

Are his fancies bad? He definitely adds speed to our lineup and I think he improves this team.

I thought I heard when he was signed that he was also one of those guys that plays better in the post season for whatever reason?

So about that game...
Rackell showed his hands on both primary assists on sids goals.
Matheson with pkay of the game on the tying goal. Stole the pick in d zone and started the play the other way. No assist on play but main reason all that happened. Hes actaully pretty fun to watch. His shot is deceivingly powerful. See alot the goalie cant handle or just got plain beat.

Where would u guys be happy at? I’d think around 5.5 at his age and injury history, not sure if that’s to low though

I like him. He plays with pace and forechecks hard. This team needs all that it can get of that. Pens have looked sluggish for weeks. They need some guys that can skate.

Too low. The guess is he may do what Sid does and sign the jersey # salary.

I guess it would depend on the length. Seems kinda high for a guy that’s turning 36 and struggled with injuries. If it’s 2 years I think it’s fine, if u get into that 3-4 year range you run into the problem we had with Hank with the contract being a year or 2 too long.

4 Games is a joke. Should have been half that.
If his name was Tom Wilson or Marchant, the league would have looked the other way

Auston Matthews gets 2 games for cross check to neck of Rasmus Dahlin.

Evgeni Malkin gets 4 games for basically the same cross check but to the face and not neck of Mark Borowiecki

It was Mathews first suspension. This is Genoa second suspension. I thought 3 games

The direct quote from Evegni Malkin himself is "I've made a lot of money so I'm not really worried about that." He's taking a team friendly deal. Grinder is just obsessed with poop talking him and is creating this narrative that we need to give him an "ultimatum". No need to give guys that are willing to play ball from the jump any kind of nonsense ultimatum.

I also thought he'd get 2 games though because he's probably say he was trying to get him with his glove haha
