In addition to missing four games, Malkin will forfeit $190,000 in salary.
I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but here it is. |

He's just another Kapenan, Heinen, Rodriguez, McGinn player. Just more of what the Pens have. |

Isn’t $5k max fine? If it’s just from his salary, that doesn’t seem right. Should be more than that, unless it’s after taxes. |

Isn't that just the money he forfeits to the PA for being out the 4 games? |

On Goodrow I agree, but I think Coleman brings a little more of an element they lost with Hornqvist. I'm not trying to be Grinder here, but if the Pens can add a physical player like that who can also contribute I think it's a win, but I wouldn't want to ADD him, I'd want him to replace someone like Kapanen.
Not to mention he's got a really good all around game.

Yeah I could see wanting to replace Kap, but not with that bloated ass 4.9m contract lol |

If the Pens were able to move Zucker and Kap out and replace them with Rakell and Coleman I'd do it in a heartbeat. He makes $4.9M for another five years. I could care less about anything passed next season.
I'm aware what I'm saying is 100% unrealistic. Just saying I'd do that if we could.

That's what happens when your linemates are guys with no scoring pulse or in Jeff Carter's case, no pulse at all. - j.boyd919
So it’s Malkins linemates fault, who gets better linemates than Carter. But it’s Carter’s fault, who constantly is playing with the 2 worst wingers on the team. Got it. Infinite excuses for Geno. |

No, Geno def needs to step it up. We'll see if he does when he comes back. And now we'll see how well Carter does here because he's gonna have good wingers. |

Carter also had a shot on Geno's line and made them worse.
In defense of Carter, I think people need to temper expectations. He's likely to wind up with over 40 points and may hit 20G. That's pretty damn solid for a 3C whether you're 25 years old or 45 years old.
I know, like some of the other depth players, they racked their points up too early in the season, but it's still helped the team overall. I'm liking his extension a little less as his age looks like it's catching up a bit, but I also wonder if he didn't have such major deployment in the first half of the season because of injuries if he'd be more rested now and a little more sharp. |

I think the 4 day break will help everyone out. Interested to see how they look coming off of that. It's basically gonna tell us how the first round is gonna go haha. |

That's another thing, too. Even though we had a full schedule this year, it still wasn't implemented like normal with all the games lost to covid. The schedule was brutal for a lot of teams in the latter half of the season. Next season should really be the first fully normal season.

I have no concern about Carter stepping it up for the playoffs. Malkins always a wildcard, he could step it up, he could be a shadow or he could cross check a guy in the face. |

Do you know if players can appeal the amount of games they get suspended or is the appeal for the whole suspension? If I were Geno and you can appeal how many games I'd try to knock a game off. |

With all do respect, the same can be said about plenty of the Pens stars the last few years. Sid, Geno and Jake all have gone ghost in the post season the last three first round exits. You can check the box scores if you don't believe me. |

Ah yes, no concern for the guy who has 7 points in his last 15 playoff games vs. all the concern for the guy with 9 points in his last 12. |
