Lidstrom helped. Really though, Osgood wasn't bad earlier in his career.

You don't need a great Goalie. Just a guy that has the ability to get hot at the right time and doesn't cave in the pressure games.

lol true but different eras. Those Detroit clubs were so deep with damn near no gaps in the lineups. EDM and TO can win a round I think but after that it's sketchy at best. Depth matters in the PO's gotta have those 3rd - 4th lines going and EDM isn't as deep as TO in that dept one could argue lol

You have to wonder how some of those guys would have done, given the technology, training, rehab etc now. They would have faced tougher competition, especially in the smaller league but still.
