Still waiting for the league to do something about ov his love affair with a homicidal maniac. Why again should I be excited about him chasing a streak? - Joe Nardone
If you think OV has now or has ever had the freedom to say a word about Putin you're nuts. The first words of his press conference post invasion were, "My family is there..."
OV has been the 2nd most famous Russian in the world for over a decade. The most famous Russian likes hockey, nuclear weapons, and killing people who speak out against him.
You and I have far more freedom of speech than Alex Ovechkin has ever had or likely will ever have.

GMs: Putin, we’re gonna have everyone in the NHL publicly denounce you for your crimes in Ukraine.
Putin: Stop. And I’ll send each of you a case of our very best batch of Stolichnaya Elit.

My sympathies and prayers to the Bossy family, friends and fans. Tough year for the Islanders with Gillies, Jean Potvin and Bossy all gone. RIP. - Minnyhock
Bossy averaged 57 goals per year. That has to be a record....too bad he didn't play longer or OV would be chasing his record. |

Never went more than 7 games without scoring a goal in his career. And he only did that once. |

Never scored less than 51 goals until his last year when he got 38 goals in 63 games playing with a bum back.

One year, $15 million, and you have access to the Pegulas' private jet when you need it.
You bring the Sabres to a wild card playoff spot next season you're a walking legend in Buffalo until you die. - lacaprup

You can’t bring up injuries! It’s not allowed say the idiots who think Gretzky is a greater player than Orr or Lemieux.
Bad! Bad poster! |

So just so I understand correctly...
You have to make reasonable proposals, and if a team doesn't have the cap space you should explain how your offer is even feasible.
I like that idea.
But then the winning selection for Kadri is from someone who just states that Monohan and Backlund are moving on. So two guys, making almost $12M, and both with NTCs, just magically disappear to make room for Kadri. That's neat. And that's who Ek picks as the winner.
So I'll just say Malkin ends up in Philly because JVR and Cam Atkinson just randomly move on. Also he gets to be 1C which is every Russian's dream. Pick me. |

The guy who will be gone is Lucic. He gets his bonus July 1, and is only owed $1 million after that. Lucic will retire IMO. Not sure about Monahan and his injury status but he might be gone for an extended period. As far as Backlund, he's still a valuable player for the Flames and not going anywhere.

Hello Mr. Malkin
Please sign a "team friendly" 8 year $8M contract with the Penguins, so you can become an absolute albatross to the franchise in two years...
We'll even trade Cyndy and Letang to the Canadiens for Carey Price and Shea Weber (no salaries retained) so you can be the man.
Do it Hextall! It would be the ultimate Flyers on Penguins crime...

For real. Some of these people should read Trump's love letters to Putin. |
