Beta Bo blocks shots, what an idiot. Leave that stuff for the alphas on the team.
Why is Arizona even in the league?
I would think some will use these last few games of the season and talk about how close they are to greatness, just like the time they made the thingy a couple years back.
This team is full of greatness. |

I really don't care but I get so much joy pissing you and the other snowflakes off.
It is so funny watching you all get so excited over so little. |

I'm not excited about anything other than Benning and Green being gone. I'm interested to see how the unravelling goes this off season and into next season.
It's cute that you think that your anger bothers me. |

“Why trading Quinn Hughes this off season is the most impactful thing this management group could do to right the Canucks ship”
Personally, I think the notion of trading away one of the best young defensemen in the league is ludicrous, but here we are, and I’m going to make a case for it. Spoiler alert, it’s not for the reasons Rueby thinks.
The problem with Hughes is OEL. The worst mistake that Jim Benning made was his last ditch effort to get to the playoffs. OEL isn’t a terrible player or anything, but he is certainly not providing good value on a $7+m cap hit for the next bazillion years. He is basically untradeable unless you are willing to take back an equally bad contract (Carey Price), or pay a hefty fee (draft selections). So, in order to maximize what you get from OEL over the life of his contract you need to put him in the best position possible, which is:
Get him a legitimate right side partner that can play big minutes and cover for him/compliment him.
Give him prime power play time so that his counting stats and overall contribution are what you would expect from a $7+m player. When Hughes was out OEL did a fine job of manning the point, and like Edler before Hughes, he’ll do a fine job for a few years yet to come (better than Edler likely as he can actually get his shot through).
What do the Canucks need back in a Hughes trade? Three main pieces are a must. 1 a cost controlled right side D with potential to play top 4. 2 a high quality center prospect with top 6 potential. 3 a first round pick. Additional picks would be great, but this is the minimum needed to make this deal.
Ideally you could do this at the draft so you could get a 2022 selection, and a team that looking to make a splash would be willing to offer more.
Additionally, this move frees up $7m in cap space (less what the incoming D gets) allowing you to add either in free agency or via another trade.
Do I want to trade Hughes? Hell no, but to me it’s the best way to improve the team and get the maximum value out of OEL while he’s here.
