I'm picking the Panther's as the eastern finalists. I'm basing my playoff pool picks on that.

An outside chance for ten players to reach 100 points or more, there’s currently five right now….good for the league |

Point per game players have double this season.

You want to make a #3 the best defender on the team. With no help.
I really thought we were supposed to make the team better instead of a single player. - manvanfan
Yeah, it’s a sad state they find themselves in. But to get the most out of that #3, I think he needs to do more of what he’s good at, instead of making him the #1 shutdown guy.
I think it’s potentially a way to get the most out of the team now, and set them up nicely for the future.
Think on it for a day, and then tell me why I’m wrong. Happy to listen, and happy to be wrong. |

If it's me, I'm trading Boeser/Miller or even Petey first before Hughes, as if you trade Hughes you don't have a D-man that can skate and move the puck up ice. OEL, Myers, Poolman, Schenn and Dermott aren't very mobile or fast and you're giving up a TON of offense. - DariusKnight
I still single out Boeser to be moved if the right deal can be had. I’m not comfortable his next contract will age well. Further to that the cap space saved & assets in return would go to better use. I seen no loss in the offence since he’s been out.
Do you see who would be a good trade partner or assets you’d like back for him? |

Jonathan Huberdeau with three points tonight, including his 30th goal, he’s now only two points (108 total) behind McDavid for the Art Ross trophy. For me, he’s the league MVP and should win the Hart trophy. - LeftCoaster
For me either him or Gaudreau. Shesterkin honourable mention. |

I think you are being idiotic in your takes, in regards to Dermott. I haven't heard anyone slurping about Dermott, other than saying he looks decent enough.
You are ridiculing some for biting, yet when someone throws out the bait, by making a Dermott comment, you bite, and bite hard.
Then go on a 76 page of ranting about this new management group, who have made some pretty insignificant moves, yet you want to believe they are significant for some stupid reason, other than the trolling aspect. - Reubenkincade
Cough cough Hughes, Pettersson. Pot meet kettle. |

I read your earlier post & it certainly is pause for thought. To work it would need to be a home run. Bones would have to step in for offence. So imo the risk is great & would either be the best trade in Canuck history or an epic fail. Therefore I look at other ways & find a top 4 RHD for QH. Allow OEL/Myers to log big 2nd pairing shutdown TOI & the 3rd pair specialize in roles. |

If you go into next season with OEL, Myers and Hughes you have roughly 25% of your entire cap taken up by 3 guys, none of which is really a #1 dman. |

Garland maybe the only one gone. I’m fine with keeping the rest. Brock won’t make his qualifying offer. A deal will be signed for less or he’s traded as well. Miller will be here until at least the next trade deadline when the playoff picture is more clear. Hughes is going nowhere and Bo would get a haul but he’s here for the long run. |

I’m sure we could sign these guys on the cheap and still be cap compliant.

Yeah I think Miller is here until TDL also. Too many teams with no cap space next year for a very active summer.
For Miller to go Canucks would need to replace his production , and at his cap hit that is impossible . He will be traded for a first and third at TDL.
Hughes is going nowhere. Correct.
I think Bo is staying also.

rarely do you trade away your best players and immediately get better, Vancouver fans are as dumb as the rest of the leagues fans.
Much like the trade deadline you’ll probably see moves that are not meant to return immediate results, but rather, to address cap issues and build towards the future knowing the teams best players player are all relatively young. The exception being Miller, who’s on an expiring contract and should be moved either this summer or at some point next season. |

Worst case scenario, who’s going to play C for the Canucks in two years? Miller and Horvat both walked as free agents.
Pettersson
Richardinson
Lammikko
?
I sure hope this group isn’t waiting until next trade deadline to decide which direction they are going to take. |

Agreed.
I think he gets a bit more though if he keeps the pace up. Someone will pay hard. I’d like him to stay honestly but we won’t be able to afford him by then. When he wants 7 years 9+ mill. |

Two years is a ways away. Free agent signing. A surprise pick. Anything can happen. There’s no way either of them walk away for nothing. I’m hoping this new management team has a better head on their shoulders than that. |
