Completely agree,

Girgensons, okposo, samuelsson and goaloffson too

- Boss34

Him turning into a true top 4 D-man is massive for the Sabres

Having their top 4 all under 24 years old...crazy

I still would like an upgrade over Joker though but he has been playing pretty well lately

The entire after the whistle crew is way off on Vic. They clearly aren't reading the analytics nor are they watching the game shift by shift. Stick to the amazing hockey stories, boys.

The amount of people falling all over themselves to breakup our effective 3rd line boggles my mind.

He would be a great bottom pair with Johnson

Sam reinhart Breed .

So half the fans will hate him hehe

- gerbe75pts

That seems about right. He's going to be good, but will need development. He's not an AM/McDavid #1, he's more of a Laff #1.

yes the cap space will be the issue.. unless inflation hits NHL cap and it makes it more palatable.. i just doubt it will change that much
- SabresFaninIndiana

Good teams seldom seem to have an issue figuring out the cap.

Did he "decide" one way or the other yet? Well, he hasn't signed, but has he said no yet?

Joker has been playing pretty well the last month, I wouldn't mind finding a vet RD for power for a year or 2 and using Joker on the 3rd pair till hes a bit older. He's still only 23 come June.

Last week I asked the board a question: if you could make Skinner's contract disappear for free, would you? I doubt that you could get anything in return so I just put a price tag of "free". I don't think we he has value in a trade for the same reason that we would consider getting rid of the contract: can we trust this turnaround or is it temporary?

You could probably get something for Okposo if the stars aligned, by why would you? The team needs leaders. Whatever we got for him in return wouldn't be worth the risk of hurting the team's growth.

- Slump Buster

Agreed
Even if we held half of Okposo’s salary, what are we getting back?
Maybe a 4th?

Just keep him
His Cap# doesn’t hurt us at all
It actually helps us get to the floor

Of course we wouldnt want to trade samuelsson, but I imagine the market would be very good.

He's a top pairing on almost any team.

Joker really has brought his game around. Ill probably be trolled but, "comfortable" is a trait he's bringing for his d partners.

Let them play without worry

Theoretical question:

Would you trade this year's first (our first) and next year's first for #1 overall this year?

Pros: The kid is really good and has been tearing it up in recent weeks. Also, he would probably start here next year.

Cons: Next year is the Bedard draft

- Slump Buster

Probably not
But I’d add the VGK 1st to move up & get him
Or Mitts + the FLA 1st + the VGK 1st & keep our 1st

I don’t think either of the packages i suggest get it done though
Heck, idk if the package u suggest gets it done either

It’s still a very small sample size of Samuelsson playing in the top4, let alone in the NHL
Many guys do regress
Let’s see how it all plays out

Gotta like what we see so far though

I think samuelsson could be a 40 point defenseman, especially with power or dahlin.

DrUnk BoSs predictions:

Girgensons getting 10 goals
Olofsson getting 20 goals
Samuelsson playing top 4 minutes

😉

I think he will be better, but I think they were pretty similar as prospects. Him, Byfield and Wright all had similar stats in Juniors

Wright 2021-22 Kingston Frontenacs OHL 63 32 62 94
Lafen 2019-20 Rimouski Oceanic QMJHL 52 35 77 112
Byfield 2019-20 Sudbury Wolves OHL 45 32 50 82

They all had help on their wings, but IMO Lucas Edmonds is the best of the bunch, so some added help there.

The drunk boss predictions are better IMO. He'd have to double his point production to reach 40, I don't see that without PP time and there's just no way he gets it here.

He's a big win for us, I just don't know if that's higher than his offensive ceiling will allow, even with Dahlin.

Very impressive highlight videos. This kid skates like Max used to, but he has the hands Max never did. Consequently, his release on his shot looks well above average to go with the elite skating ability. It would be nice to have a C who can carry the puck in zone like he does. He looks like the fastest player on the ice in every video clip I watched.

You are so very wrong. There just wasn't HD when he played.

Any nice goals where he's stick handling and doesn't actually lose the puck though?

Wow you guys have some kind of revisionist, delusional history.

Pegs is a victim now, too. How sad.

Carry on.

That shouldn't have counted, he legit moves backwards.....

Shootout needs to be tweaked or scraped.
