save percentage in rochester counts to dog 6k
but the great save percentage he has as a sabre this year does not count

It’s interesting simply because it has seemed like he always plays better in the NHL vs. AHL.
Disclaimer: I don’t have fancy stats to back this up.
I am slightly concerned about his availability, but not at all concerned about his ability.
Perfect world. NHL keeps the taxi squad in place.
Upl as a 1 a/b
Kempher for the split. Over pay on a 2-3 year deal?!?
Anderson as the taxi 3…
I don’t see Upl and Anderson making 82 games next season. And I don’t see Suban as any type of answer (I know he isn’t signed for next year).
If Adam’s rolls out UPL/Anderson/Suban then Gerbe is right, they don’t plan to push to compete next season. It’s a repeat of this year and that is disappointing….
I don’t want to see a lot. I just want to see another step in the right direction this off-season. That includes shoring up the Goalie, vet RD for Power, add the kids. Go play hockey. |

People will start going Ape if it looks like they're going into the season at the floor again. 5th richest owners in the league, and they just got gifted a stadium. Time to get the alligator arms into the deep pockets and go for the playoffs. Part of development is playing your first NHL playoffs. Few go into the playoffs and run to the cup on their first go. Let's get a spot next season. There's no need at all to mortgage the future, but having respectable to great goaltending has been a hallmark of the Buffalo Sabres when we've been good throughout our 50+ years. Respect the uniform. Buffalo Sabres stop the friggen puck. Let's stop embarrassing ourselves in net.
Adams seems to think Portillo is still a Sabre. Sounds like GM speak to me.

Wouldn't get your hopes up for the taxi squad, it wasn't around very long this season. It would also be difficult to pull off, Anderson would have to clear waivers to go to the taxi....or you do the opposite, and you have to open a roster spot every time you want to play UPL.

FFS...he's calling the 4 picks over the next 2 years more important as picks than currency. Not good, Bob. |

To the above and your earlier post, if they want to keep all their assets, there are a plethora of options at goal, defense, and forward available as free agents this offseason.
All they need to do is spend some money.
Will they, though...? |

Maybe just expand the roster by one to carry a 3rd goalie? Fix the EBUG issue?
I know you are right.
I’d like to keep Anderson around but don’t think he can take the workload as a split with UPL…
It will be an interesting off-season |

I'll have an aneurysm on the air if opening day comes and I don’t have one shiny new toy on this roster. |

Don’t they have to in order to achieve celery floor. Or are we going to just boychuk it there? |

I wouldn't be happy about it, but if all they did was bring in a UFA goaltender split starter, and a UFA RHD, that would be the absolute minimum they need to do.
I wouldn't trade any of the 1st round picks or the Sabres 2nd round pick either.
Spend. That. Money. |

Nope. They'll be close enough to the cap floor that all they'll need is to take one one dead contract like Shea Weber to be comfortably over the cap floor. |

Just don't think they see an issue here. I really don't either. It's hard to play all 3 goalies and it's easy to call up someone from Roch. Most teams wouldn't carry a 3rd G, unless you forced them.
Would Anderson want to come back as anything other than a 1A/B?

If they took Weber for 4 more years, there should be a riot.

I'm unable to parley anything this game. I just took the Sabres on an alternate spread.
Sabres -2.5 for +270
I sense an ass whipping, just like Edmonton gave Vegas. |

I wonder how long he sticks with fancy lines if it doesn't start well. Philly sucks though. It should start well. |
