That was about right. He was one of my favorites to watch, but it was infuriating how often he'd make some super move only to lose it a second before the shot.

I think the shootout will be scrapped one of these years but I absolutely think that this kind of stuff will get addressed this offseason. It has become cartoonish and beyond the spirit of what a shootout should be. - Slump Buster

Personally I like when the players put on some moves. It makes something that is so pointless at least watchable.
Imagine every guys coming down and either your shooting or making a little deke to go back hand or forehand. literally 3 options. It makes for a very boring event. Let em dangle the goalie out of their jocks, goalie has a stick for a reason, they choose not to poke check.

The issue isn't about movement, it is about lack of movement. You can dangle or go side to side all you want. Once you slow down that's when it gets goofy.

I think you should have to stay between the circles and maintain speed.

Semi agree with you, something to fix that would be like, put both guys(shooter and defender) at the blue line. D-man can't move till puck is touched. Bu then its not a shootout.
