With Sameulson there were concerns about him getting to "good enough". In the case of a guy like Moulson, "good enough" was good enough until he got a little bit older. Then he fell off of a cliff.

Guy like moulson should have been easy to teach skating too. Easiest thing for a pro hockey guy to learn.

Maybe another way to look at this is that being able to skate well can cover up a lot of issues elsewhere in a player's game. Look at a guy like Holzinger - he had crazy production in college and could fly like the wind. Greer might also be another good example. Neither could put the puck in the net in the pros but they were able to carve out good careers in part because they could both really skate. If you're not a very good skater you've really got to be bringing a lot of other things to the table.

It's the thin line him and Pegs don't seem to understand, the difference between playful ribbing and getting personal and ugly.
