Not gonna happen 36

Olofsson is/has been a very good young nhl player with a sniper shot.

He's earned 5+ million over 5 years.

- Boss34

Do you consider 26-3/4 yo as "young" though?

I do not. He's not "old" either.
For this reason, I would only do 3 or 4 years. Buy a couple UFA years.
Also, one must give some consideration to the time missed due to injury.
He is another guy who has lost a fair amount of time and quality time due to injury.

Whatever happens happens. After watching the RoR first go from top 5 to the last pick in a couple months made me numb to that. That said, still want a teens first this year. Lots of great talent and adding that to the pipeline now is crucial.

Plenty of quality talent all over the first round, including the 20's.

He has an embarrassment of riches, and all he really has to do to appease a ready to be rabid fanbase is get an NHL goalie. Easiest GM job in pro sports right now. if he doesn't have a goalie to start the season he should be dragged every day online, on the radio, at the arena, etc

if he gets a forward or defenseman it's gravy. His job is so friggen easy right now. He doesn't even have to do new contracts for Dahlin or Tage yet.

Was really talking about Olofsson and what they are willing to do or go to on a contract. Is Adams gonna go out of the box and sign Olofsson to a long-term or does he kick the can.

Why wouldn't we be generous and go 5 x 5 or even 5.5? We can sooo easily afford it. It makes almost no sense to not retain him UNLESS you make a 1 for 1 hockey trade for a different type of player of equal value. Picks/prospects for Vic make no sense whatsoever. If you get a pick, even a 1st rounder, you hope he becomes...Vic.

That is the question.
Honestly, I think he generally will "punt" from his own 45.
In some ways it makes sense from the perspective of allowing young players (not Olo) to develop to show what they have ... then make suitable trades accordingly.
- Is Krebs a LW or C?
- Is Cozens a viable 2C?
- Is Tage's explosion going to be consistent production?
- Is Quinn 1, 2 or 3RW?
- Is Peterka a 1, 2 or 3LW?
- Can UPL stay healthy and play 50 gms?
- Is Joker and Power a solid 2nd Pairing?
- Is Samuelsson a 1st Pairing with Dahlin, and who us L and who is R?
- What are VO's contract demands, $ and Term?
- Is Mitts going to burst through similar to Tage?
- Is Asplund a defensive only LW/C or can he produce more?
- Can Gigglesson stay in his skates? ( for you 34 )
- Does Johnson sign, and if so is he a L or R?

So many questions that need answers.
About the only thing that does not need to be resolved is that they need a G upgrade IMO.

O for sure. I’m just greedy and want an earlierish teens 😀

On top of that, Fla losing in the first round would get us pick 24. Now that would be some ammo (sorry rat)

9, 14, 24 is a hellava spot to be

Well cause this organization kicks the can a lot. It would show some growth in the FO to finally get ahead of something.

Would the owners sign off on that?

Until it happens, I'm dubious.

I understand the sentiment. But think of it as if you were Terry pegula and and you had your heart ripped out after spending to the cap ceiling year after year. I know a lot of Sabre fans have grown to hate him, but no one can deny he has been a fan of this team since the 1970s. No one can deny he built some of the finest training facilities in the NHL for this team. Yes, the payroll is cheap as could possibly be this year, but that was not disguised from the fan base and the reasons it was done are obvious.

On top of those things he was quietly negotiating a stadium deal for his other team. Now that's done, and just at the right moment his hockey team got healthy and started to play incredibly entertaining and somewhat successful hockey. I think there are a lot of reasons to be optimistic Terry Pegula understands the history of the Buffalo sabres and good goal tending. I don't think we'll see a forward or defenseman but I think he might tell Adams to get a goal tender. He has stepped in before in the case of Josh Allen and the case of tage Thompson. He made his preferences quite clear. H***, he might tell Adams to offer mark Andre flurry one year at 15 million.
