So I watched a lot of last night's game - very exciting. I didn't know that the Devils were such a good, young, fast team. Lindy had them flying.

It was also the first time that I've seen Jack play with what should be his regular line. This may sound weird but I don't know if Jack knows how to play without the puck. After he, when he was here he played with guys that were not known to be puck carriers so he got to have the puck all of the time. While Stone is a winger he is clearly a guy that is used to having the puck. I don't know... there just seems to be something that isn't quite right with that team.

Yes. For me 60 games is the minimum for an MVP candidate. He and Sid just make it. And, by no means, does anyone run away with it this year. 8 players and 1 goalie are all legit.
- lacaprup

If it is so close, why are you giving it to a player that missed 15% of the season?

Theodore for Vegas first, and Big Cahonas Kevin makes them take Bjork.

They are such a weird team. I think they are the classic case of the parts being greater than the sum. All is roses when they are flying up ice on the attack and the ice is tilted towards the other team's net. But as soon as someone punches back and the ice is no longer tilted they are very average. Lehner also doesn't look right.
- Slump Buster

Lehner's looked like this since opening night. They've been so pedestrian and everyone is afraid to tell em so.

Why would Vegas trade Theodore to save cap space only to take back Bjork's contract? Makes no sense. Also, we could use Bjork's contract to get to the floor if we just waive him.
- Slump Buster

Because Kevo's sack is too (frank)ing big for McK to handle and he'll be like fine gimme pick 15 and Bjork he's aight I guess and Kev be like (frank)in' no poop.

I mean that - not unlike us - they seem to have a lot of good young pieces. Who knows, maybe it was a fluke. They seem to be on the right path.

The Sabres and the Golden Knights have identical records (nearly) since Jack Eichel's debut on 2/16.

VGK:13-14-2
BUF:13-14-3

Bizarre.

- TheSabresTaco

Since Eichel's return to Buffalo 3/10

VGK: 9-9-1
BUF: 11-6-3

I've decided Aleksander Barkov is the MVP.

Reigning Selke Larry of the NHL.

- lacaprup

Barkov is an awesome player, but I don’t think you can put him in front of Huberdeau this year.
Neither seem to care about MVP awards, though, they want the Cup. Nothing else matters to them.

Well, he's scoring 1.3 ppg and is among the harderst, if not the hardest, forwards to play against in hockey. You have a fair point though. A handful of guys have had seasons as good and played more games.

I'm going on the "one guy for a game" argument with him.

I’m not worried about Dallas. They would need a total collapse. 4 points up with a game in hand (2 if you count tonight’s game)
- SDSabre

Van has 6 str wins and they play Ottawa tonight, with a win they would be a point in front of Vegas and equal in games played

Jack really looked disinterested again. It's wishful thinking probably, but I can smell some trouble brewin over there.

Not by definition.

Colorado and Florida would both survive w out Makar and Barkov.

That's tough. Josi isn't necessarily doing it all by himself, but is in comparison to Cale. I think I am with you on it, but damn if I'm Josi I've got my hands in the air if I don't win.

I don't think he is disinterested. I just don't think he is used to not having the puck all of the time. That might also explain why his defensive metrics are better.

Do you consider 26-3/4 yo as "young" though?

I do not. He's not "old" either.
For this reason, I would only do 3 or 4 years. Buy a couple UFA years.
Also, one must give some consideration to the time missed due to injury.
He is another guy who has lost a fair amount of time and quality time due to injury.

- IonSabres

I'd consider 26 years old as young.

It's just the greatest MVP debate ever. Igor should be absolutely outraged if he doesn't win.
