Allegations of cocaine use, being a bad father and now revenge porn.

Any way you slice it, he's starting to become a distraction.

And, yet, I respect him far more than Jack Eichel. I really am prejudiced against gingers. South Park and an ex did it.

75% of Buffalo aren't getting asked about it in the press, which will happen.

Selfishly, this is our Super Bowl window. We don't need this crap.

I think that season is not remembered a lot because it seemed like it was anomaly that we made it as far as we did. There were a lot of good young players on that team. I think the Adelphia issues might also factor into it.

Dominik Hasek carried them everywhere they went. It felt like it was Hasek and Stu Barnes v the Dallas Stars in the finals.

Now, that said, they hit like no other Sabre team. The worked their asses off. They put on a show fighting. But, they might not be a playoff team without Dom.

I think you're right on the fans' thought process, even though in reality, that wasn't quite correct. The team had made the Conference Finals the year before, and the Adelphia issues never manifested themselves until a few years later.

The 2000-2001 team was probably the most disappointing of that era. It was almost as if Regier knew the team was going to implode because of the Rigases, and he went out and got guys like Andreychuk, Steve Heinze and Donald Audette for one last run.

Also, the 05-06 team came out of nowhere. We were terrible through December and then a switch flipped and they were awesome right into the playoffs. Man, I miss that time. My wife and I were dating and we used to buy a case of Molson and head down to the party outside of the arena before the game to party with several thousand close friends before the game. So fun.

Barnes and Michael Grosek too. Not exactly the Red Wings of the time.

Next season it's all coming back. I really cannot wait to see Pearl Street jam packed for the games with ESPN broadcasting from there.

I guess it depends on how you define "young". That team went out and got some guys to fortify their run too. Remember, Rhett Warrener and Joe Juneau were trade deadline additions just a couple weeks before they went out and got Stu Barnes.

there is no might about it.. they were a 7th seed WITH Hasek. he then proceeded to put the team on his back and carry them to the SCF where they refs decided the stars should win..

you forgot about Peca as well

That had a lot of nice players. I think with a top line they may have won that series.
