So much for the Bruce Bump narrative. This team is way past the bump stage. Those are usually 8,10,12 games. This team is capable of competing regardless of what the narrative monkeys say on here.

Nice W last night, even better when Vegas takes an L

It's pretty comical that after all that noise and hand-wringing, Elias Pettersson is going to end up posting career-highs in:
A bunch of people complaining about people complaining, who were also complaining but about different things at different times, who feel validated in complaining against others' complaining but forget about all their complaining.
Everyone here is equally wrong, despite what "catchy" name one set of complainers groups another set of complainers into, and vice versa.
Canucks control their destiny, hopefully they continue to step it up

Do you think this team is built like Colorado or Tampa for sustained success? Or are they built more like Montreal or Dallas where it's very mediocre or fleeting?
Was mulling the last time I remember Vancouver having a down to the wire playoff run. Think it was 90/91, couple games left, all Vancouver's Goalies were injured. And Steve Weeks HAD TO win....and they were close,(games), but Canucks made it.
And lost
But it was edge of your seat hockey.....was looking for Weeks highlights but found this and it made me smile

None of those 4
The closest comp is TB but lacking their D depth. TB with Hedman is the big diff. Imo

Don't take the teams too literally – it's more a question of roster construction, and if the team is built like a perennial playoff threat, or if they're built like an up and down team that could make the playoffs and go on a run or miss them all together.

I chose TB for similarities namely on F’s & their ability to score & in goal for both teams. D is the diff that makes us unproven as a perennial PO team. I’ve said adding 1 stud RHD would change the team immensely. So much so it puts us in contender territory. I believe this but that’s a tall order that I don’t see neither available or easy to get done. Since BB took over they’ve found an identity & the confidence. They’ve a taste of winning & should bode well in coming years. The F group & prospects are in very good shape imo. D depth is ok not anything special. Prospect D depth could use more high end talent. I’m ok with role player D that is marinading. A Ryan Pulock would be an ideal type to add.
A 2022/23 line up adding Nichushkin while D is a work in progress. Boeser resigned. Cap for 2023/24 to resign Miller & Bo & Schenn & RFA’s is available.

I watched most of the Calgary game before, similar outcomes score wise and both games could have gone seriously off the tracks for the winning teams.
The Canucks aren’t as good as some think, just like they weren’t as bad early in the season as the record indicated.

Watching other teams play its clear the Canucks aren't in that upper echelon of teams. I'm happy they're winning and making a push for the playoffs, it's great long term for development and the mindset of the young players, but they still need to make moves (some bold ones)/clean up areas of mess that are holding them back
