Why would the Hawks do that? There is no guarantee that the Hawks would draft in the top 2, or in the top 8 for that matter? Is the second pick this year equal to the eighth next year? They have 2 #1's in 23, and if they end up trading Kane, Toews, Jones, or ADB they will have more. - LAHawk
Maybe Davidson likes the '23 pick more, so he is open to letting Columbus have thus year's pick. But if he plays it cool, and gets an elevated esrlier pick this year just by letting Columbus have the '22 pick. Might there br a center next year Davidson likes more than those after Wright? Maybe, maybe not but the other players in '23 where we slot are better than the #2 overall this year. Plus see if we can exchange our #2 '22 for an earlier Columbus pick this drafy. Don"tvthry have many selections. I see this as a win win sort of trade. |

Exactly, if you get a top two pick this year, you take it. Who knows what happens next year. |

Yeah agree with Fatty and Angotti about this. Have a gut feeling they'll do better next year, in the 7-12 range. But of course, we never know especially if Kane, the Cat, Tazer, etc., are sold off. That said, there were so many distractions this year and having a coach the entire year from preseason to finish will help.
Just don't want CBJ to end up with the 3-5 pick this year as part of the Jones trade... That'll hurt. |

I have a question on the Yotes first goal -
If you watch the replay, the ref behind the net has his hand up to his mouth ready to blow the play dead (because he lost sight of the puck, everyone lost sight of the puck). Now there is a thing called "intent to blow the whistle" that a ref can use in just a play like that. Why didn't he stick to his original plan and wave the play dead once he saw the puck again, because he was going to do that? A ref should never then blow a play dead if there is a chance the puck can be played, isn't that correct? |

Playoffs baby - BetweenTheDots
I wouldn’t go that far, but like Pops mentioned, unless they sell off Kane and Dcat. The Hawks should be better next year as some of their young D acclimate to the NHL. The goalie situation will also play a part in wins and losses next year, as will Shane Wright(you never know). |

I'm just kidding, but yea I'm optimistic about the D. I caught a Hogs game the other night playing the Wolves, whoever the coach is, is teaching these guys to be aware of the players behind them in their own zone. Saw Regula do several times with the big club and Mitchell like Reichel just need to get stronger. I mean that would be great for me then you've got Jones, Murphy, Regula and Mitchell one of them will have to go then. Fingers crossed
What was weird was it looked like they had Kalynuk playing RD?

I do agree with King these forwards are more concerned about scoring then understanding they are winning and to be defensively responsible.
14 leads they couldn't hold now? |

Yep. Last night the Kane, Strome, Cat line scored 2 goals, but each player was a +/- 0. |

New blog! Thoughts on what if the Blackhawks do tear down the roster down to the studs if Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane ask out and Alex DeBrincat gets traded.
Plus, summaries of this week's Hawks + Hogs games vs Coyotes, Wolves + Griffins.
