Messier also broke into the league as a wing.

It’s not some Joe Schmo drafted in the second rd. Laf is the kind of kid that can do that type of change.

It also fulfills my fantasy of him becoming the next Patrice Bergeron

But for poops n giggles…I could definitely see him traded in a package for whoever gets Wright. Would be something if the Habs won it. Then the chances increase dramatically imo

one thing that Cuylle and Othmann will have going for them that Lafreniere and Kakko didn't was that everything should be normal starting next year

starting their careers when Kakko and Lafreniere did with these crazy last 3 seasons in the NHL has been nuts

- jimbro83

Stop with this BS excuse. Plenty of guys drafted with them that are playing well. It’s a nonsense excuse

PP time is a legit excuse. You refuse to buy that one yet?

I didnt realize it but the Wolfpack are 1-8-1 in their last 10 and will miss the playoffs

probably another reason why they didn't even bother asking Kravtsov to come back over until next season

I don't know if I am using that as an excuse as much as I am saying Othmann and Cuylle will have the benefit of normalcy when they come up more than anything else

Him not getting PP time is an excuse for him looking like a ghost on the ice for long stretches at a time?

he's the one who is obsessed with Lafreniere and Kakko's stats compared to other players drafted high in the league more than anyone else

but, ultimately the reality is that it doesn't matter

I do, I think it's going to be repeat of this past training camp, and if he doesn't win a job, how is he going to react this time?

It is 100% the reason why he only has 27 pts. Period. Stop. Get off the hill because between him and Caufield, your batting average is plummeting haha

This is the last offseason I am allowing myself to get my hopes up for him (not that i'll have much of a choice because he'll surely be gone if he doesn't work out). As temperamental as he's been there is no doubt he's loaded with potential and skill. AND HE'S A RW!

and Chytil only having a 5.8 shooting %

you could easily say Lafreniere should have 10-15 more assists

Strome alone has 17 PP pts. If Laf is in that spot he has at least that, and probably around 50 for the season

Theoretically I understand why people wanted him, but yea, I wanted no part of that.

I dont think he is coming back, I think the relationship is done. He was to have been at odds with Drury to begin with.

Forget 27 pts, he’s been invincible for long stretches. I think next year he has a better year but his first 2 seasons have been sub-par

Rangers have the hammer tho. Is he willing to just rot his NHL career away? He’s the one that needs to come to his senses. Drury asked him to work harder..oh my heavens such a terrible thing to say to a player cmon Krav you puss

I'm just surprised Panarin and Shesty didn't have much influence with him. Talk about 2 players with amazing work ethic and take nothing for granted

I just google maps'd where Chelyabinsk is and there's no goddamn way Kravtsov would be ok toiling away on the border of Kazakhstan with Borat instead of living it up in NYC. The game of chicken is over if i had to wager a guess

He’s been scratched so I’m not denying it. You just have this panic about him that no one else does.

And you compare him to McDavid. That’s it. That’s your only comparison. It’s a smidge unfair because, Gretzky wasn’t even McDavid. His combo of speed and skill has never ever been seen, McDavid that is.
