Trading Panarin means Laffy will be able to play with Strome and get more PP time, we will then be able to access if he is a true bust or not.
Very Simple.
Otherwise how else will we know??
Problem then is how will we know if KK is a bust or not??? - Brukie
IMO, it works like this...
We are a team that hasn't made the playoffs in what? 5 years?
If we win a round, significant progress has been made. If we have a "good run" (I'll call that making it into the 2nd round and at least being competitive, 6 or 7 games) our final season of rebuilding/retooling was a success. If we make it to the 3rd round, we will have exceeded the expectations of EVERYONE who made a prediction prior to the season (except TJ).
If LAF and KK contribute in any measurable way to a successful season in which we prove to be a top team (already happened) then they are NOT busts. IT'S A TEAM GAME.

What’s gonna happen is Copp re-signs..Strome doesn’t…Laf explodes next year because he is in Stromes spot on the PP. Then we can watch him not be a bust

Gonna have to trade Copp to see if Chytil is ready for the 2c next year

What is it that you are saying, exactly? And what is it that you are expecting? Please don't take this as mocking or angry. I legitimately want to know.
You called him disappointing. He is the 3LW (majority of the time) on a top 5 team in the league. Maybe, just maybe, being a dependable player on a winning team is more important to him than personal success. Is he a disappointment because he hasn't pushed his way into the 1LW position? How would that even happen? - Tonybere
What has he done with the puck on his stick? Very rarely do u see him make a play or create on his own. He’s been a “solid” player that isn’t a liability but at the end of his 2nd year I’d expect to see more of that creativity and confidence with the puck. He just doesn’t have that yet. I don’t care what line he’s on, how many times has he created opportunities or dominated a shift? Even when he was playing with Kreider and Zib, he got some points bc who wouldn’t playing with those 2, but HIS play never really stood out to me.
Something about players making one of these 'straight out of a video game' cookie cutter dekes and inevitably scoring on them fees scripted. Like in the moment, when I saw him making the move in real time, I knew it was going to go in. I'm sure there are plenty of times players make these moves and they don't end up scoring but they just don't stay in the ole memory bank
I think most Ranger fans are excited right now and not obsessing over Lafreniere's production

Just watched as two complete strangers in #NYR jerseys outside of the Garden had a full conversation without breaking a stride about who the Rangers were playing in final four home games 😂
