it isn't over yet Sausage King. but they don't control their density... I mean destiny any more.

funny narrative you hear a lot is "they wouldn't be in this position if they won more games early". I argue that they would be, maybe even worse because Travis Green might've stuck around longer, or maybe even survived the whole year.

It was the back to back losses against bottom feeders NJ/DET and 2 straight to STL that really (frank)ed them. They get 2-4 extra points out of those and this loss tonight isn't as demoralizing

I agree. Now if they only fired Green a half dozen games earlier... Canucks may be holding onto a birth right now...

It's the nature of sports. There will always be ifs and buts for every team that doesn't achieve their goals, or the goals of their fans.

Should be an easy win tonight. Shaky goalie who hasn’t played in ages against a team that has been pumping in the goals lately.

7-3 Canucks. Boeser with the Quattro

Like an unexpected roundhouse kick at a wedding, Adam Gaudette shocked the world Tuesday night, as the Senators secured a 4-3 win in the shootout over the Vancouver Canucks.

No disrespect Canuk fans, you got a great young team on a great run and we in Ottawa are SUPER envious of your coach.

But that game last night really should have been a win and a blow out. Sens are an AHL team with an ECHL/Junior head coach.

You were up 2-0, crowd on your side, refs ready to throw any Sen in the box for even burping near them. Shoulda been another point closer to LA this morning.

Halak not going on the road trip. Demko wasn't sick. He just played like he was.

It ain't over till it's over.

They didn't make it easy on themselves, but if they win the rest and get some help, they'll be 9-0-1 in their past 10 heading into the second round, and we'll get a summer of McDavid trade rumors after he demands out

“Would have liked to have the two points and this makes things a little bit more difficult and we’ve got to move on here and put this one behind us,” said Boudreau. “Give Ottawa credit. They played really hard, really well. They were in it and not backing up and I thought the third period was going to be tough.

“I give our team credit. We didn’t quit and in the last 10 minutes we had all the chances.”

Which means the message for a crucial and tough two-game road trip has to be one of hope.

“You don’t want to speak emotionally, you want to speak analytically and intelligently,” stressed Boudreau. “I could have gone in there (room) and said a number of things tonight, but I’ll wait until tomorrow. We were going to be allowed one mulligan and we were thinking it might be on the trip. We’ve responded well in the past and that’s the kind of mentality we need.

“This group has fought for almost five months and they’re not going to quit now.”

Trade him for Miller. That's reasonable.

Fighting nightly, no team can do it for 5 months. They left almost no room for error.

The job this team has done has deserved to come back next season together

Miller + Myers for McDavid (so the cap works), I'm sure Allvin will throw in a 2023 3rd too

They had some crappy stretches as well that are really hurting them now (not counting, ya know, the whole first part of the year)... basically have to be perfect from here out and have some teams plays very mediocre hockey

Good run. Very enjoyable to watch.

It was a fun game, even if they’re a tire fire in their own end at times. Sens have some good young players too, I can see some battle of Canada matches in the future.

When Myers hit the post last night. 1 goal on the season. That guy is just hoping for a fresh start next season. The rest of his game has improved. His giraffe mistakes have lessened. The guy just can't put it between the pipes.

Or if Benning was fired after he let Markstrom, Tanev, Toffoli etc walk, made a bunch of stupid trades/signings, going all in again and then the team fell flat on its face.

Green surely wouldn’t have been back.

A couple injuries haven't helped out lately.

Hopefully Allvin and Co. can get some more younger bodies into Abbotsford to improve the depth and competition.

Same number of goals as Dermott, and probably way less impact of a goal as well

Someone brought a Myers Chaos Giraffe sign to the game last night
