I also factored in who we'd miss more if they weren't part of the D corps. We seemed to handle the loss of Hughes pretty well defensively. Myers' tougher minutes are harder to replace. Plus that time when the D was really thinned out, he pretty much carried it. I don't think Hughes has that in him yet.

Hughes has missed a total of 6 games this season, not really a great sample size lol

Hughes has made a big leap defensively this season compared to last, while also bringing a ton of offense, control, and pace to the team.

Myers has had a much better defensive year, plays a more prominent defensive role with OEL, but doesn't do much other than that. He's basically Edler the last few years, but taller, and more chaotic.

I wonder if Hughes PK numbers are an improvement over the typical PKers like Peteys are for PK forwards. I'm thinking not as much, but I wouldn't be shocked if his charts were better than Myers

I wasn't merely going from that sample size. Other people were in and out. There were a number of in game adjustments as well that involved Myers taking a bigger role and making a difference.

Proper Defense, to me, is very multifaceted. Which is why I value what Myers has brought this year over Hughes. I think Hughes is more one dimensional and is still rounding out.

I think our defence improved significantly once Poolman got injured. Happy with what Brad Hunt brings to the team.

This game is going to come down to details -Wild commentator.

Good thing Travis worked on details endlessly for years with the players.

Can’t believe this is a 104 point team?

Huberdeau tied with McDavid for the Art Ross, I hope he wins it and the Hart.

Good team but right now Canucks aren't really pressuring. When Canucks step up on them in neutral zone, it's working.

(frank)in Miller with a lazy turnover in the neutral zone, almost resulted in a goal…trade that guy

Yeah, I like their style. They won't be an easy out in the playoffs if they get decent goaltending from Fleury. I don't trust Talbot at all.

Andrew Copp with a natural hat trick in the 1st for NYR today.

Probably the best acquisition of the trade deadline so far.
