I’m not buying the they were tired narrative. They looked pretty good, scored 3 which is enough to win most nights with Demko in net. To make the playoffs in this league, you have to play this way for 82, so if they’re tired after 50 there is a problem.

Demko was puking in a bucket the previous game. I doubt he was 100% he definitely looked tired . By the 3rd the team couldn't complete with the Wild and looked tired. I'm actually not pushing a narrative here. Just going by what I saw and casting an opinion based on my personal experiences.

The award is best Defenseman. Not Defensive MVP (Demko). I must have missed how Hughes came up clutch down the stretch here.

The entire team looked spent, I don't blame them. Lots of intense hockey over the last little while. It was a big ask and they were missing a couple of key guys. The depth wasn't there to pick it up and they just hit the wall. Fun little run to watch though.

Maybe you and Mini could channel some of the anger that your feeling right now and use it's energy to do something positive. In reality this team just got finished providing us something few people thought they were capable of. Maybe it's leadership will follow suit in the offseason.

Cheers.

In reality, you don't actually know how I'm feeling. Anger isn't really one of those feelings. A bit disappointed at best.

In reality the team didn't show up for the first period for a lot of the season. They forgot to show up for many games throughout the season as well. Especially against lesser teams.

In reality you can't play 60 games hard and expect to make the playoffs in the NHL. Half the league is playing hard for 70 games at minimum.

There is still a locker room culture problem that needs to be addressed.

Just criminal how Benning and company pooched that draft….criminal. Missing on Virtanen and Juolevi really hurt the franchise long term. Teams miss on occasion top six but rarely do they do it twice from great draft positions two out of three years
- LeftCoaster

You can probably change places in the standings if he would have taken Chucky instead.

For all the complaining that goes on regarding past drafts, it always makes me think if anything different had happened those years, Petey and Hughes probably wouldn't be Canucks right now

Oh I’m sure there is a stat somewhere that he’s quoting, but I bet there is also another that says they aren’t.

They give up too many shots, too many scoring chances and don’t control the play enough to be top 8 in anything.

Markstrom you can have, but me and the posse are coming for Tanev, Thulsa Doom style.

- 1970vintage

Tanev is definitely a good fit, nothing spectacular always steady, keeps the young guys in check.

Just take a look at this from the Ottawa game. Looks almost like 2 tripping calls on the same play.

If Demko was sick Martin should have started. I didn’t think the Canucks could keep up in the first. Not accusing you of pushing anything, just heard this from lots of people - various places.

At the time I thought he was a little slow and his skating might hinder him, I’ve been going to a lot of major midget and junior games the last 5 years and the players keep getting faster.

I doubt a single change, or even multiple changes would have effected the standings that much the next couple seasons. i.e. Nylander over Virtanen and Chucky over Joe Levi. They still would have traded for Goody. Nylander took several years to make it. The team still would have been bad.

Now, their salary cap situation might not look any better.

Lol, I don't think Mini and I are angry. I'm just joking around. Why you projecting man?

How Hughes came up clutch in the last 2 months? Putting up 20 points in 21 games and logging an average of over 25 minutes a game. Myers? 4 points (no goals) in 23 games averaging 21.5 minutes a night. Coming up clutch is usually elevating your game to the moment. I would says Hughes has done that more the last 2 months than Myers has – he's had a better season for sure, but Myers is not clutch.

As Mini pointed out and probably Vintsy too in his poetic way, the Canucks failed to show up for more first periods than not. Before and after the coaching change and before and after the TDL.

Same idiots that choose to live in Scottsdale

You would live in Scottsdale if you had the financial means but you don’t. Don’t be jealous. Put your head down and stay positive and build a better life for yourself and your family.
