The guy at number 3 on that list would be an interesting offseason target. |

MAF will not sign that contract knowing there's zero chance he gets moved at the deadline beacuse of the cap - gerbe75pts
This is a good point, but if nobody else wants him and his contract, he may not have many options where to play in the first place. |

It’s much more than empty net goals. You do know the Sabres score empty net goals too though right ?
There are a few empty calorie goals they are on the ice for that counts for the “+” too |

Ah yes the whole special teams and defence don’t matter argument again.

The Sabres are a wet dream right now.
Draft picks and cap space out the wazoo.
Can Adams put the final pieces of the puzzle together ? Or are we going to sit here a few years from now and play the “bad culture” “grr tanking” game again while Dahlin and Power get blamed like Eichel and Reinhart did - Pegullaville
And if anyone could (frank) up a wet dream, it's Adams |

We know what Skinner is, hopefully you get more good than bad. Very easily helped with a good D pair that gets the puck up ice. |

If its not Arizona or buffalo it will likely be at 5m or 6m contract for 1 year .
so that should be easy to move at the deadline if no playoffs for that team

Do you think they are a playoff team with no other additions aside from a quality goaltender who can start 50 games and a bottom of the roster defenseman or forward? - kingcong39

Why would he want to be moved at the deadline when the Sabres would be comfortably in a playoff spot? |

Unless that goalie is Igor Shesterkin I would respectfully disagree.
A solid netminder gets us where the Isles are sitting imo.
Still need another top 6 forward, or two, and a legit top 4 RHD to make up the difference. |

Kevyn Adams has more than enough ammunition to get the help needed.
Next year should be a year we make a wildcard push and possibly even make it |

you have literally hated skinner since they signed him to the contract, the contract that they had to overpay maybe a mil per
and if he walked, and eichel wanted out a year later your story would be we should have signed skinner just like all the others who though eichel could walk on water and brow beat anyone who said anything bad about the part time super star
still think eichel is better then matthews?

doesn't change the fact skinner gets more points per minute even strength this season
and I never said special teams didn't matter much |

No I don’t. Matthews has clearly taken off the last two years and he defends at an elite rate.
Still think Risto is good d-man ?
I was thrilled when we traded for Skinner, but that contract is awful.
If he made $6M and slotted down a line, I’d like him just as much as the day we traded for him.

Find someone other than a Sabres fan that thinks Skinner is in the same stratosphere as Rantenen.
Getting points is one part of the equation.
Sabres have scored the most goals in a season since 07/08 and aren’t within a mile of a playoff spot.
If Skinner defended as good as Rantenen did and our top line didn’t get scored on as often we probably would be a lot closer to a playoff spot |

I'd say he has at least 3 good years left and then you can make a decision on the 2025-26 season
Buyout options:
2025:
$4m
$6m
$2m
$2m
2026:
$2.4m for 5 years
Although there's only a year left by '26 so probably not worth it. Just suck it up for one more year
Cap space probably won't be an issue between now and then |
