And if anyone could (frank) up a wet dream, it's Adams - Wetbandit1
Adams has been fine
And the work Botts did is paying off now too
The impatience is real i guess |

Find someone other than a Sabres fan that thinks Skinner is in the same stratosphere as Rantenen.
Getting points is one part of the equation.
Sabres have scored the most goals in a season since 07/08 and aren’t within a mile of a playoff spot.
If Skinner defended as good as Rantenen did and our top line didn’t get scored on as often we probably would be a lot closer to a playoff spot - Pegullaville
We pay Skinner to score
He’s gotten back to that this year
We ALL know he’s overpaid & isn’t good defensively
Don’t need to keep harping on it though dude |

Why would he want to be moved at the deadline when the Sabres would be comfortably in a playoff spot? - lacaprup
MAF isn't dumb he's not going to sign a 15m 1 year contract and risk not going to the playoffs for his last year in the league anything can happen to miss the playoffs aka like the hawks

I can still point out skinner has more 5 on 5 points per minute played this season then rantenen
pretty sure nobody here thinks skinner is the better player, but he also is not the steamy pile of dog donk people have been saying for 2 years |

No I don’t. Matthews has clearly taken off the last two years and he defends at an elite rate.
Still think Risto is good d-man ?
I was thrilled when we traded for Skinner, but that contract is awful.
If he made $6M and slotted down a line, I’d like him just as much as the day we traded for him. - Pegullaville
He really doesn't though. He defends at an elite rate like Jesus does, only by having the puck.
He's been on the ice for 20 more goals(80) against in 71 games than he was 2 years ago in 70 games(60). And his O-zone starts are the highest of his career. |

? for Lunaion don't remember ever seeing it. But does hockey have option years built into contracts - Buff36
No, you'd see it constantly if could.

this could be the first season since 10-11 when the sabres have 2 goals in the top 30 for goals scored

I'd say he has at least 3 good years left and then you can make a decision on the 2025-26 season
Buyout options:
2025:
$4m
$6m
$2m
$2m
2026:
$2.4m for 5 years
Although there's only a year left by '26 so probably not worth it. Just suck it up for one more year
Cap space probably won't be an issue between now and then - Hank Balling
I'd say cap space is an issue in 3 years. Tage, Dahlin, and Power will all hopefully be on new deals.....plus everyone other than Skinner or Tuch. Even if they do the bare minimum this summer, they'll be over the floor the following season internally.
The cap space should be an asset this summer, but if they are cheap again, it may not be. |

guy had a 40 goal season and got paid for it
pretty simple
you think Timo Meier is going to settle for 6 mil next summer?
or Kevin Fiala this summer?
both will get close to 8, going back to the sabres paid an extra mil to retain the rights of Jeff Skinner which is about a mil more then he should be paid but at least we have a coach that knows how to use him again
I would rather see him light the lamp 35 times a year and make the payoffs next year then see some other scrub get 15 goals on that line and miss the playoffs next year
I mean it's not like I am writing the checks

It wasn't clear but that's what I meant. The decision should be made in 2025. Either you do it then or you ride out the last 2 years.
As for this summer, I expect a few Boychuks, a mid-tier stop-gap goalie and maybe a RD. Can't see much action for the Sabres |

so skinner is why Eichel has never played a game in the post season?
you have moved the goal post 6 times already on this conversation
you hate him, we all get it as you remind us on a regular basis

I agree, there's a big difference between what you'd like to see them do and what you think they'll actually do. KA's been pretty clear on his direction.
If you want to sign anyone beyond 2 years, the cap is an actual issue to consider.

I’m sure Hurricanes fans won’t be happy with a first round playoff exit either.
Yet everyone on here would be streaking in the streets |
