He’s def going there as a FA if he doesn’t force a trade.
Is Johnson going to sign here? If not he needs to be traded at this years draft before we lose leverage - Fattony1187

I understand his point, and I'm sure he understands mine.
Rebuilding teams shouldn't have cap problems. - Lunaion
The difference I see now compared to before is simply no bad players on bad contracts
They don’t have anywhere near a problem on the horizon
I wouldn’t even be mad paying Olofsson as he’s proving to be more than what I thought he was and I was his biggest critic last season
We simply need more good. |

saying mcdonald's employees work harder then eichel - homiedclown
I want to wait to see what he does with a healthy offseason before I declare him a disaster in Vegas.

Yes.... what do you expect him to say? In that spot anyone is going to say they love the current group/players and that they are going to take their time, blah blah blah.

I wonder if not being in game shape after the surgery is really starting to hit him now with the schedule of games |

When you have virtually your entire team either on rookie deals or vet minimums, that will tend to happen. Free agency is a really good way to change that in a hurry. I need Adams to be shrewd in the trade market.

It's something fun to pay attention to, but unless Vegas goes on a run to the conference finals, we're talking about the difference between picking 16th and 17th.
Pick your poison: Vegas goes on a cup run or Vegas wins the lottery (.5%). Not sure which is more likely. - Lunaion
I'm picking jack eichel and Vegas miss the playoffs.
Should be a glorious off season as a Sabres fan.
Sure, they need to sign VO, but KA has that completely under control |

I'm thinking that's exactly what it is. It almost reminds me of The Last Dance where Michael Jordan started working out with his strength and conditioning coach immediately after the season he came back from retirement. Not that I expect Eichel to go to that extreme, nor am I saying he's Michael Jordan, but there is no way he can be anywhere near the best shape of his life right now. His work ethic has never really been in question, though, and I expect you will see a much different player next season. |

😥 poor jack
Imagine if the surgery isnt quite as good/safe as the surgery the Sabres staff recommended? |

His job right now should be to win games
That’s it. He got to stock his cupboard, draft #1 overall, now it’s time to add for the now |

Yeah all 31 games - BeadyEyedDouche
Number of games has little to do with it. If you're not in as good a shape as your peers or your competition, you're going to struggle, especially at that level.

Devil's advocate: In theory he should have been able to get himself into some kind of shape because his injury was upper body. Sure, I wouldn't have expected him to set the world on fire out of the gate but.... yeah. As I said earlier, I wonder if he is actually hurt.

I'd say Jack is 85% healthy , which should be enough to pull them in the playoffs.
His attitude and being a bad teammate still at a 100% poor.
It was never about the on ice play, it was the other aspects of being a captain, that he fell short.
Still is. |

I don't think we're actually disagreeing by much here, unless you think they shouldn't be planning for extensions on Tage, Dahlin, and Power. There's a clear limit to how many 8m+ deals you can fit. |

Number of games = 31
Should dictate enough games played to be in "game shape"
Under 10 games sure, not in the same shape as peers

I'm not saying he's completely out of shape, just not in the shape he would like to be. Next season will be a much better indicator of the Jack Eichel Vegas really got. This time next year (which will probably be playoffs), will be the time to have this discussion.

I'm of the opposite opinion here. He should have been fresh and had his legs under him. He had a minimal invasive surgery where he was back skating in just a few weeks, and this after the videos of him conditioning before the surgery.
Excuses.
I remember a few years ago however, I said Eichel's biggest weakness was his endurance. So there is that.
I just don't see the strain of 31 whole games wearing on him, nor the lack of conditioning.
He has no heart. |

Does the same apply for alex tuch?
Alex missed a good portion of the season just like jack.
Should we expect a better indication of alex tuch next season? More goals, more leadership... |
