Are you saying Jack hasn't played with great players? Because again reality disagrees with you. - lacaprup
The only "great" forward he's played with is Sam Reinhart, and I would classify him as "very good" rather than great.

Take a look at Evander Kane's year. Skinner's for that matter too. Jack is a top 10 bad contract in the NHL. |

When you have to parse words and go for specific language to defend a player, you know you've thoroughly lost the argument. |

hall won the hart
tage, skinner, and kane have literally the same points per 60 even strength this year as sam reinhart and stone
so really if you think stone is good, you can't give jack a pass on these others

Hall has been a shell of his former self since before he signed here. I consider Kane, Skinner, Reinhart and Stone as "good" players, not great. Tage Thompson is probably in the "good" category as well, but his sample size is way too small. He could end up rising or falling in either direction. You definitely can't call him great right now. |

The original argument was whether or not Jack Eichel has played with great players, not whether he is one or not. My answer is that he hasn't. And he may never. Homie's right, there are only so many Ovechkin types to go around, and they're hard put on one team in a salary cap league.
Whether or not he's a great player himself is a completely different argument. Right now, I'd say no, but injuries have been a bigger part of that story than the fact that he doesn't have the same bubbly personality as Josh Allen. |

I admit, I am late to the convo and I am too lazy to back reed but
why would Jack need Great Players around him. He is suppose to be a difference maker and make average players good/great players. Do you think McJesus needs good players around him?
Jack has been hailed as this superstar, and in reality all he has ever been is an above average player.

Has Vegas quietly turned into one of the more dysfunctional franchises in the league?
*MAF debacle
*Lehner-DeBoer saga that's happened over the past few days. Insane.
*Completely mismanaged salary cap.
*Failed Dadonov trade.
*Almost certain to miss the playoffs when they were considered by many to be a cup contender.

Yes, id go as far to say Cup favorite out of the west.
They are going to be interesting to se how they handle this offseason if they do miss the playoffs. |

This is all fair, but again, a completely different debate.
The fact that this team, one who is going to miss the playoffs by 30 points, give or take, has the most promise in a decade should tell you how few "great" players it has had. If you want to say that Jack Eichel is included in that list, there's an argument to be made.

Maybe done spend $17 million over the cap so you cant bring back your injured players?
That's another discussion in itself on how Vegas is blatantly using LTIR to stash players. |

Yeah, when you're paid Patrick Kane money, the expectation is Patrick Kane points, regardless of linemates
Kane's never had an elite (offensive) center |
