I love him as a player but coming off back surgery, with that contract, I'd be a little leary. I think he's got the full 8 years left, so going to 37.

I mean Jack's 5th in scoring that draft. 79 pts behind Marner in 20 fewer games. Rantanen and Aho are both ahead of him and Connor isn't far behind. That's all fine, but he was supposed to be 'the' Matthews' the 'MacKinnon' the one that makes everyone better. It's disappointing as a Sabres fan that he didn't live up to that, he had elite moments for sure and probably will pick it up next year. But I'm happy with the trade personally. And if he misses the playoffs, well I may enjoy that just a little bit too.

Skinner scored goals before Jack, with Jack, and without him again. Jack makes nobody better. Nobody. He has never made a winger better. I thought centers were supposed to do that. I know Marner makes his linemates better, and he's just a winger.
