Odd that he botched VO's QO so badly.

Not really. Lance (frank)s things up consistently, and when you call him out on it, he gets angry.

I won't even get into his poop opinion overall.

I'm not even sure he got the cap floor figure correct.

There was also this gem in there:

The Sabres, though, don’t want to block one of their young goalies.

Young goalie singular, not plural, at least until one of the young goalies actually signs.

Lance's entire premise of Adams basically running the same team back for next season is nauseating.

Well, almost as nauseating as the idea of playing Hinostroza over Peterka next season.

I'd say cap space is an issue in 3 years. Tage, Dahlin, and Power will all hopefully be on new deals.....plus everyone other than Skinner or Tuch. Even if they do the bare minimum this summer, they'll be over the floor the following season internally.

The cap space should be an asset this summer, but if they are cheap again, it may not be.

I get your point about cap space in 3 years, but I just can't care or be concerned about that, as quality organizations get out of cap issues or even cap jail season after season after season.

I'm not advocating for going wild and signing multiple players to max term deals, but worry about icing an actual playoff team first before worrying one iota about what the cap may look like in 3 seasons.

So much happens and changes from season to season.

I've discovered over the years, despite our many faults, we have the most thorough and intelligent Sabres discussion - not happening within the organization itself - here on this message board. WGR has its moments, but literally the most famous Sabre calls of the last 10 years have come from a member of this board.

We're not news breakers by any means, but we do a better job taking what the Sabres and the beat reporters give us, and turn that into a long running and thoughtful conversation.

I'd imagine any group of 2 - 4 of us could put out a better Sabres podcast than anything currently being made (assuming someone knows the technical aspects).

So Amerks sit at 82 points, which is more than some teams who have already clinched in their division?

Potential! Does Adams have it in him to take this team to the next level. Think Donnie and his coaches have done a fabulous job, it's now time for Adams to do his and infuse some more talent into his team.

Agreed, but I believe it will be a controlled add...where talent, attitude, leadership all intersect to keep building the new culture they are developing as a Team rather than a collection of individual talents.
Should be fun to watch.

Yeah, some teams playing 72 games while others playing 76. Teams had choice of how many they’d play before the season started. Idk what the reasoning behind that was.
Charlotte chose 72, their regular season is already done, and they have clinched 1st in AHL Atlantic by win percentage.

Good Post! Agree with acquiring players that fit how you want to play. And Adams doesn't have to go nuts, really only room for 1 or 2 forward adds. Even if he was to add just a good top4 RD and a goalie I would be happy. Use your draft capital and add to your offense and RD. Sabres can score goals, gotta be better on stopping them

Ya, I wasn't impressed with the article at all, many points didn't make alot of sense to me.
Positioning the desire to not block their young Goalies, 2 of which have shunned them for at least this year (as kf now) while suggesting Hino is sig ed rather than playing JJ is inconsistent thought process at best IMO.
A better way to say it is that there are so many questions with each player on this roster that sitting back to evaluate exactly what they have in order to smartly fill openings later is a prudent approach h.
Not one the fans want to see, but prudent none the less.
So go get a G who can post .910 for 4t-50 games and a RhD who stout defensively to pair with Power, thereby making Joker expendable or pushed down to 3rd pair makes all the sense to me.

Great possibilities with this team with a few shrewd moves. Gonna have a gap with prospects this year in Rochester, next waive probably hits in 2yrs. Adams has the resources to help the big club while still filling the cupboards. Especially the next 2yrs

went to the game Saturday. I will be the first to admit, I thought Tage was a bust. That dude has extreme talent. That shot! holy shat! he has great hands too for a big guy.

I think so too.
Gotta see what they really have upfront.
With how good Skinner Tage Tuch has been up top, I still think that would be an awesome 2nd line versus a true #1 for an playoff run...which as we all know is a completely different style of hockey. I just don't think they have that style of Players up top yet.

Agreed!
Edit: But I think they are close, a little more grit would go a long way

Jack: No points in the last 4 games.

All jokes and snark aside, he has to be hurt, right? That's just astounding.

I get the premise that contending teams run into cap issues and manage them out of necessity. Non-playoff teams shouldn't be, like the Sabres of recent history.

The tone here yesterday was to go wild and sign/trade for a few big deals. I think it's pretty clear that's not what KA's going to do.

I don't think we have any reason to think this. Also, those in the know say that he has been trying to trade for Gibson for a while now. That's not a move that someone makes if they are looking to continue to take things slow.

A Goalie move should have been made already, he's late to the table on that.

I hope Zito can work out a deal to keep Marchment around.
KA should consider making him an offer he can’t refuse to lure him away from South FL. He’s makes $800K on his current deal.
