I'm thinking that's exactly what it is. It almost reminds me of The Last Dance where Michael Jordan started working out with his strength and conditioning coach immediately after the season he came back from retirement. Not that I expect Eichel to go to that extreme, nor am I saying he's Michael Jordan, but there is no way he can be anywhere near the best shape of his life right now. His work ethic has never really been in question, though, and I expect you will see a much different player next season.
- buffalofan19

The fact this overrated bust still has people making excuses for him is so funny. $10 million per year for not a point per game or a particularly gifted defensive player or a 40 goal scorer or a leader.

Awful, awful contract.

Does the same apply for alex tuch?

Alex missed a good portion of the season just like jack.

Should we expect a better indication of alex tuch next season? More goals, more leadership...

- Boss34

Tuch has slowed down quite a bit since his hot start.

Not just the points, he looks worn down a bit too

Love the one way street on this topic.

Tuch had a way more limiting injury that kept him out a long time and he hasn't shown any fatigue.

Weird.

I'm picking jack eichel and Vegas miss the playoffs.

Should be a glorious off season as a Sabres fan.

Sure, they need to sign VO, but KA has that completely under control

- Boss34

VO does have some say in this too....

Dahlin is a nice guy, but wasn't once negotiations started.

I would expect even better production out of him next season too, yes. We're talking about a small sample size for both players. I want to see them both over a full 82 game season at least before I feel like a poop eating grin is warranted when it comes to Jack Eichel.

I havent been paying attention, does the banana make excuses too?

😥 poor jack

Imagine if the surgery isnt quite as good/safe as the surgery the Sabres staff recommended?

- Boss34

the banana is a loser and tried to get me banned for telling everyone i slept with his wife..

i thought the reason for the surgery they wanted was because this one had never been done and tested on an athlete..

He’s literally been demoted to a different line and absolutely doesn’t have the same jump he did

He’s probably tired he had almost a year off

if keeps this play up over those 8 years (or even improves) then thats a steal.... however there is a chance he regresses and it turns into a bad contract too.. its risky without having the longevity of solid play

Eichel wanted the surgery he was granted.

Who knows if the surgery isnt holding up, vs. The standard recommended surgery?

Excuses excuses excuses.

Were there other hockey players who had it done? I knew there was one UFC guy who did, he is fine, but had to retire due to the injury in the first place. I didn't know ADR had been done on a hockey player, now it's just Jack and Tyler Johnson.

Jack is 14 in points per game among players drafted in 2015 this season. And 5th all time for 2015 draftees. Rofl

31 games is 38% of the season.

Eichel is a turd, his attitude is terrible.

That's gonna continue to let his teammates down, injury recovered or not.

Good post

I've seen enough personally to give him the extention now. Tage could regress, but sign him now IMO.

I'm talking 8 million before 10+ ......

Hopefully if tage regresses, he still plots 30+ .
Prime age to lock him up for his best years

Other hockey players have had ADR before him, just weren't NHL players.

Chris Weidman is the UFC fighter. He's not retired, but has been out because he snapped his shin in half in gruesome fashion. He did fight after ADR.

These numbers seem large to me, IMO.

I see Tallness landing in the 7-7.5 long term, again IMO.
