I remember in the late 60 s I use to go to a lot of Jr Canadiens games and my brother told me keep an eye on this kid from Quebec Ramparts. Even though I was losing interest as a Hab fan the kid was unbelievable. I hated him ( in a good way ) for years and years.

When you come from Fluery, Malkin, Crosby, Letang to Miller, Pettersson, Hughes, Demko. There's a difference. A clear difference.

Even so, I don't recall the PIT GM balking like that when Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Fleury were very young in the league. I mean even the TSN analysts were dumbfounded by Allvin's comments and that's saying something lol. Maybe it was Allvin's way of trying to 'incite the club' to play better down the PO stretch but still recognize it for what it is. No one is saying Petey Miller Demko and Hughes are gonna accomplish what Crosby Letang Fleury and Malkin did but man think before you speak.  |

Great stuff. I know growing up in Van all we had was a few channels and HNIC Sat night which was Leafs or Habs mainly. Watched alot of Habs games. Lafleur will be missed massively. Guy was unreal good. |
