Great stuff. I know growing up in Van all we had was a few channels and HNIC Sat night which was Leafs or Habs mainly. Watched alot of Habs games. Lafleur will be missed massively. Guy was unreal good.
- LordHumungous

I cheered for whoever was playing both those teams.

I remember in the late 60 s I use to go to a lot of Jr Canadiens games and my brother told me keep an eye on this kid from Quebec Ramparts. Even though I was losing interest as a Hab fan the kid was unbelievable. I hated him ( in a good way ) for years and years.

Though they were in 2 different Leagues, QMJHL vs OHA ?

The sittler 10 point night, everything he touched turned to gold, wonder if that ever gets broken.

I never seen the Ramparts play I watched the baby Habs. We followed Lafluer on the scoreboard until he was drafted then we seen him live.

I can't remember exactly but I remember seeing a lot of Gilles Lupien and we loved him because of the fighting until one night the opposing team had a real tough guy who challenged Lupien and he coward and was actually running (skating away ) from him. Lost all respect for the guy that night. I checked the time frame and it says Mtl red white and blue and Ramparts . So I guess I have seen Ramparts but I am not sure how that worked.

If the games two greatest offensive players couldn’t beat it, Lemieux #1 & Gretzky #2, it’ll be a fluke if someone ever does even tie it. Didn’t Sam Gagner have nine points for the Oilers one game?

I said my brother said keep an eye on this kid named Lafuer . I never once said I seen him as a jr .

We seen him every week when he was drafted as a Hab.

I understand where there was confusion because I never specified the details but never said I seen the Ramparts. We went quite often to see the jr Habs though .

Even so, I don't recall the PIT GM balking like that when Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Fleury were very young in the league. I mean even the TSN analysts were dumbfounded by Allvin's comments and that's saying something lol. Maybe it was Allvin's way of trying to 'incite the club' to play better down the PO stretch but still recognize it for what it is. No one is saying Petey Miller Demko and Hughes are gonna accomplish what Crosby Letang Fleury and Malkin did but man think before you speak.
- LordHumungous

It's pretty hard to balk at them for leading the Pens to a cup in their very early 20s.

It must feel odd for TSN analysts to have a GM that isn't part of the parade planning every year.

Recognize that at the time of that interview, Canucks and all their superstars were sitting in 20th spot.

One of our Homeboys, Allan Globensky was the Muscle for the Baby Habs for a few years. We'd go to many Sunday Night Games drink cheap beer and great Forum hotdogs.

World renown hot dogs

I sort of remember the name Globensky . Did you guys do the 10 cent beer at the Atwater Pub on happy hours?

We are going back 55 years so names are really faint. I was trying to remember who some of the stars were back then but I was drawing a blank.

They had guys like Rick Martin and Bobby Lalonde but I remember more of Guevremont and Ian Turnbull

Montreal Canadiens took that new coach bump and have turned it into a .412% over the past 34 games.

.256 under Ducharme to .412 under St. Louis

But because PJ, who writes for The Province Sports, said those three guys were “#1 guys” the GM must be an idiot. You can’t make this stuff up.

Goal scoring is crazy this year. Bad defence? Low save percentage? More power plays? What's the actual reason for higher goals being scored.

Sunday Dinner then from the South Shore up to the Forum and Atwater was not open on Sundays.

Those Memorial Cup Teams were loaded, too many to mention, Perreault.

Globensky had a big Afro, He was only there for one reason and when things got ugly the crowd started chanting En vu ? Globensky, Bedard gives him the tap, and away we go. His scraps tith Steve Durbano were Classics.

Lowest PP opportunities ever. Highest PP% low save percentage. Highest shooting percentage.

Probably just less face punchers in the league and more skill

I wonder what rates disallowed goals are at this year compared to others.
