Myers and Boeser should be traded imo. Although he produces offensively, Boeser is slower and not physical at all, not to mention the salary conundrum Benning created with his QO.
Myers is a train wreck most nights, something crazy happens every game when he’s on the ice. Too much salary tied up in OEL and Myers.
Pearson and Podkolzin are essentially the same tweener players, you don’t need both guys, Podkolzin is obviously cheaper.
Dickinson isn’t physical, he’s slower, and, he doesn’t bring any offence. He needs to go as well because he’s a waste of cap space.
Lots of unraveling to do
If someone offers you a boatload for Miller….he gone!! - LeftCoaster
Those are the two trades i would like to see most. Rebuild the D from there. |

I have never been overly dramatic in my entire short not even over the hill yet life.
Most playoff teams make changes too. It's just the landscape these days. Keep your core of players and the rest is just moving parts.
Developing the rest of the players Benning has given the Canucks is essential. Just going to need a bit of patience - manvanfan
If Miller would sign a five year deal for 8.5 I’d re-sign him and then start by trading Boeser and Myers. That’d speed up the process, being able to keep Miller. |

I think one of the 1st moves the Canucks make, is buying out Poolman. Saves about 1.3m next year and over 2m the last 2 seasons of the contract.
The team has no choice but to start cutting somewhere, as they have a QO coming up in 2 years that is over 10 million.
Does the team want/need that contract from a player that gets hot for 32 games per season and is somewhat invisible the other 50 games?
Tough decisions to be made as it appears just about every contract, other than Bo, Miller and Demko is at least a 1 million dollar overpay. - Reubenkincade
Would make just as much sense to put him on waivers for next season. |

Can only imagine Miller saying, "I need a winger" once you've traded everyone away to keep one guy. |

Which is why trading Miller is the start of the unravelling. |

You can’t start negotiating with Miller until July (officially). I’d focus on getting Boeser signed to a reasonable number even if you plan on trading him. He’s worth more signed than an RFA with a large QO (or at the very least allow a team to negotiate with him). |

Exactly and Jannik Hansen said if they want to stay to win, they will take less like the Sedin's did.
Canucks could sign Miller also. Give him like a 15 team no trade list for a couple years to allow him to control his destiny if a team comes with an offer. |

Unravelling priority should be
Myers
Pearson
Boeser

I think it should start with Miller if he has no desire in staying.
I agree with Lefty that if you can get him to agree to a 4 or 5 year term that won't cripple you financially, then you keep building around Miller with a small window in mind. There's just too many bloated and redundant contracts to make any of this easy.
Benning really sh it the bed with desperate trades & signings year after year only to remain a basement dweller. Allvin, Granato & Castonguay have a lot of work ahead of them. |

Or just let him walk like Benning would.

As someone mentioned earlier, all that is left for this season, is the hope that the Canucks can move up via the draft lottery and get either David Jiricek or Simon Nemec.
Either of those 2 would be an excellent choice for the team.
If they stay where they are, I would take Owen Pickering. |

Thoughts on Chesley?
Sounds like a guy the Canucks need but he’s not the biggest guy for the role he plays |
