He's the gift that keeps on giving, no wonder Boston was so keen on letting him go to be our GM. They KNEW how horrible he was... the final FU from the 2011 Finals.

Podkolzin and Boeser look like they were on the Tiger Woods diet last night, hookers and blow, theyā€™ve been bad tonight.

Nice win for the boys.
Love that black jersey.

Huggy bear is a stud. Glad he's locked up long term here. Franchise Dman.
MArtin played good. I look forward to seeing more of him next year.

Too bad Boeser can't up his game. The guy just looks so disinterested 95% of the time.

Iā€™d sign Halak again if he was willing to play for up to 1.15 or whatever the max to the AHL is. Provided thereā€™s no trade protection etc.

I'll take Martin for half off the HAlak rate.

If we go with Demko/Martin for the big club and MDP and Silovs on the baby nucks...
I wonder if they will grab a vet goalie off the scrap heap as a safety measure, just in case Demko goes down at some point?

I didnā€™t say Iā€™d give the job to Halak. I said J would sign him again if he was willing to play for the max allowed to slide to the AHL and without trade protection. Best players play, but he would be a decent option as a ā€œvet goalie from the scrap heap as a safety measureā€

True.

But the fact that he just negotiated a NMC in his last contract, and refused to waive at the TDL suggests to me that he isn't inclined to go down that route.

I'll bet he signs another 1year deal somewhere that offers him those kind of guarantees.
Perhaps in a Euro league.

Dudes gonna be 37 in a couple weeks.

I wonder if Andrew Hammond will be available for cheap.
Local boy.
Signed a 1 year deal with the NJD last year on the cheap.
30 years old.

I'd go younger. See if Clark could work some magic with a 25ish year old reclamation project.

Demko and Martin are both 26
Silovs and MDP are both under 22.

I'm more thinking some experienced vet on his last chance contract.

Exactly why I picked that age group. Martin gets a bit of a shot next year as a backup and some internal competition. I'd go as high as 28 for age. Any vet over that will be proven enough to cost more. I'm looking to build value.
