Gustav Forsling was mediocre junior player. OJ was a good one.
That's what I mean, players make large jumps in development and some don't ever get any better. - manvanfan
Some (like Hodgson and Juolevi) get derailed by injuries, that also has to be taken into account. |

Don’t know much about Hodgson but when I watched Joe Levi in Penticton at the young stars tournament, he was mediocre at best, continually being blown by on the outside be almost everyone. Was he a product of playing on a very good junior team? Playing with better player makes most look better. |

Point is, your example wasn't reflected in all other examples. You have to consider it all. He showed he could be among the best.

I see the Flame envy boys are out in full force today.
They seem to forget Tanev Markstrom Edler played for us and we won nothing.
We were getting 40 - 60 shots against on many occasions. Tanev got injured so often because he was under siege almost every game .
Almost every player that passed through the Canucks doors found immediate success on exit even Gudbrandson (I actually liked him) .
Canucks systems and coaching has been a dumpster fire for years and years. So regardless of who was here they would look terrible.
Flames better make a big push this year because next year they have a lot of tough decisions with the new contracts they need to sign. This will be their one kick at the can before they lock themselves into cap hell or say goodbye to players. |

Literally hasn't missed a game in his 2 seasons in Calgary - NorthNuck
Never said he did. I was pointing out that he was rarely ever fully healthy here in Van. Just because he's played healthy seasons in CGY doesn't mean he should be back in Van or have folks pining for his return lol |

I agree, Canucks have won nothing, it doesn’t matter who’s playing for them. Flames will be compliant next year, they have lots of options to get there. I also agree that this is their opportunity to do something, Treliving gambled draft picks to save his job much like Benning did.
It’s not like we’re being handcuffed by handing out 9 million dollar contracts to 2-3 defenceman like Nurse. With the flat cap lots of teams will be scrambling. |

Wrong. - Marwood
Let's look at games played for Canucks from last to start.... 69, 55, 42, 53, 69, 70, 64, 38, 25, 29.
Most games played in one season was 70... his healthiest season as a Canuck.
Spin it anyway you want. He was injury prone as a Canuck and couldn't dress up to 70 games his final 5 seasons here... 55 or less in 3 of them.

Brad took his shot and I respect him for that. You will be compliant and you will be also locked in. This is going to be the core for years and years and years. This happens to just about every team . Teams like their star players and to keep them you need to lock them in. Problem is most fans want to get rid of those same players after 2-4 years and they are locked in for 7-8 years.
Flames had a good year , playoffs are a different style of game so see what happens. I personally don't see them going too far but best of luck to your team.
I think Nurse is a good leader and a good playoff Dman.

The '19-'20 season was shortened as was the North Division season. He had 2 or 3 seasons where he missed big chunks but his last 3 as a Canuck were not injury riddled. Spin it any way you want. |

Lol. And just what are you basing that on? Nurse has done nothing in the playoffs. He’s a poopty vastly overpaid dman. |

Like Tanev, Nurse has won nothing in the playoffs, he’s got 9 goals, 35 points and going to get paid. 9 mil for a 2-3 D, they can have him.
Just for comparison Kylington has 9 goals and 30 point on an entry level contract, he might get paid 3 mil next year. Doesn’t have the same attributes as Nurse but much faster and younger. He’s 3rd in D scoring on the Flames. |
