My point? Krebs is basically on a 40 point pace, as a 21 year old rookie, and if I'm the GM I'm not giving up on him just yet, especially in a trade for a 33 year old w one year left on his deal who won't be here past the trade deadline (and if he is, we'll start crying age whining that they didn't move him then). - Powerslave
This is where I disagree. If Kane ever agreed to a trade here, he retires here. It's not a short-term thing. Call him 33 all you want, just make sure you call him an elite 90-point 33. |

Stop talking sense. lacrap wants instant gratification - a playoff series, where he can sit in the stands and wave a white towel, while wearing a blue and gold Kane jersey - RichardRoma
And then watch them get smoked in the first round and Kane leaves on July 1st and then it's, "they should have traded him at the TDL, those IDIOTS!". |

We have the single best farm system in the NHL. We have cap space. Peyton Krebs is next to invisible most games. He is not in any way one of the untouchables on thos team.
Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, Joker all untouchables
Tuch, Thompson, Skinner all untouchables
Quinn perhaps untouchable to some
Okposo and Girgensons solid 4th liners. Certainly not untouchable players, but it makes no sense to move them, nor would they return anything.
Every other player in the system not named is a tradeable, upgradeable assest.
Honestly though, you're one step above a troll. You can't articulate a cogent opinion on the Sabres or the Bills. - lacaprup
Lord Purple helmet - I thought we weren't allowed to discuss the draft/ Bill's?
You dictated those feelings yesterday.
So what can we discuss?
Trading Krebs (an untouchable) for a guy who has 1 year left on his contract?
Same guy is gonna get 90 points
Same guy that has a past off ice in buffalo
I could see a tdl trade for kane, if we're still in the hunt.
He also needs to waive..... |

Is he extending?
Why don't we just wait for the 34 year old 90 PT UFA Kane and sign him then? |

Oh, no. Because, you see, if Adams sends Krebs and multiple 1st to Chicago for Kane, he'll RETIRE as a Sabre. How, you ask? Adams will probably put it in Kane's new contract. Adams will also hold a public event to burn every Krebs jersey that was ever produced. lacrap will deliver the opening remarks. |

Let's trade them both to Chicago for Kane and Toews - RichardRoma
Straight up? I'd do it, even now. Chicago wouldn't. I'd doubt either of them waive anyway. |

I see. So, if a prospect doesn't have a Jason Robertson-type impact in his first year, he HAS to go. No exceptions. - RichardRoma
Little known fact : jason Robertson learned how to skate just after being drafted. Apparently it was the easiest hockey skill to learn..... |

Because having him instead if Krebs, or Mitts, or Cozens is another reason we end the playoff drought next season, and he clearly still has gas in the tank. How many goals does Quinn score on Kane's wing next year instead of Peyton Krebs? I'd say there could be as many as a 15 goal difference |

I could see pk88 take a playoff run with the Sabres at the deadline. Maybe get a feel for playing in buffalo, prior to extending a contract?
He wouldnt even need to unpack his suitcase, just 18 games and probably a 1/2 dozen more... |

The goal isn't to end the playoff drought, it is to win a championship.

And now that ride-sharing is legal in NYS now, cab drivers won't have to feel threatened either.

Just for fun, let's say Adams gets Kane for Peyton "you didn't give lacrap instant gratification" Krebs and multiple picks. Then, as the season progresses, Krebs takes off with Chicago and ends the season with 80 to 90 points, whereas Kane only gets 50 to 60 points with the Sabres.
Who's fault would it be that Patty "Savior" Kane didn't get to 90 points? |

Amerks are getting reinforcements for tonight. The Sabres have recalled Michael Houser.
Aaron Dell and Casey Fitzgerald have been assigned to the Amerks. |

Patrick Kane does have enough in the tank that you could still make him part of a multi-year plan to build a cup winner even at his age. His skillset does last long enough. The issue, like you referred to earlier, is whether or not he's on board with that and would sign an extension knowing that.

Yep, that's a step away from loser tank talk to me. Should we tank next season for the lottery?
Nobody makes the playoffs for the first time in a decade and wins the cup in the same year. Let's tackle one thing at a time.
I suppose by your logic UPL and Anderson are all good for next season right? |

Adding pk88 would be awesome, wonder what the outside perspective is on the Sabres recent play?

Did you snort a line before this idiocy? Krebs may never be an 80 point NHLer. You're a fool. |

Krebs:
56gp, 7g 15a 22points
Yet, some see a 30-35 goal scorer in there. I got news for ya, Krebs would be the last of our young centers the Hawks would want for a Kane trade. - lacaprup
2021-22 season
krebs 22 points in 47 games .468 points per game
casey 18 points in 39 games .461 points per game
cozens 37 points in 78 games .474 points per game
casey and cozens got more then a minute per game more ice time

I think the Marlies can't get more than one point in their last games(?)
And obviously Rochester is a must win.

When it comes to free agency, I think the general consensus is that the Sabres need to prove to the world the dysfunction is ended in the win column. Until then, those types of players will have to come via trade.
It's just the same situation as the Bills. They needed to trade for Stefon Diggs in order to really make Buffalo a destination. There's no way he signs in Buffalo in 2020 if he were a free agent. Only when he and Allen started winning big games did Buffalo become a destination players wanted to play in.
