I think you might also have to factor in his desire to get paid. Most of the elite teams wouldn't have the cap to sign him. So it is possible that he could see us as a team on the rise AND have the ability to give him what he is worth.
And being a local boy, I wonder how strong the allure of winning a cup here would be. - Slump Buster

It's always satisfying to put on display how stupid someone is to the point they get so mad they act like they're 12 when we know they're middle-aged or older. |

Having Krebs/Mitts/Cozens is kind of redundant.
They are all the same type of 40-50 point players.
moving one of them is fine in a package for upgrades, IMO.
Cozens is the last guy I move of the 3 though. |

Cool. You guys can have a bonfire afterwards, and burn all of the Krebs jerseys you can find. |

he’s been disappointing to me.
He’s super young with room to grow but I don’t see this huge ceiling
He looks like Mittelstadt did. A great play every 8 games or so and a bunch of bad passes |

On the flip side, I think Krebs and Cozens are the only ones with any sort of significant trade value. The book is out on Mittelstadt. We know who he is, and so does the rest of the league. That's not to say he's worthless, but he'll be no more than a throw-in for any sort of significant trade.

I'm in agreement that if it's a proper upgrade, with an eye towards the future, too (term).
Kane is a guy you add to put you over the top. |

Fine. I give up. I hope Adams trades Krebs for a Top 6 player, or Kane. Then, we can watch this new Top 6 player, or Kane, have little to no impact, and it'll be 12 straight years with no playoffs. |

Cozens has the most value.
Mitts is the least likely to make an impact here
Mitts is good depth though |

Agreed. Kane is a move for next offseason. No reason to spend a young prospect And a first when were in no place to even get to the playoffs right now.
Goalie and RD should be our biggest targets this offseason. |

This.
But if you can add a top six forward smartly, I'm all for that, too.
Nino Niederreiter doesn't cost you anything but money. |

Forward is a bigger need than defense at this point.

Highly disagree.
Defense is solid. But Joker with Power is not good for his first full season. A vet would go a long way. + Joker is not a top 4 D.
We have 2 solid F prospects coming up. Mitts not getting injured first game could go a long way and scoring has not been a big problem.
Stopping 40-50 goals is easier than finding 40 or 50. Especially when you look at who we've had in net.
Scoring is the hardest thing to do in hockey. Lets stop the puck first. Its a little easier to do. |

Because outside of Skinner, Tuch and Thompson, you have no reliable top 6 fowards, not over the course of an 82-game season. I'll throw Olofsson in order to not start another posting war. I can live with going into next season with this defense group. Without a significant upgrade at forward, this team still misses the playoffs by 15-20 points next year, and that's if everything goes well. Relying on two guys coming up with 4 games of NHL experience combined between them is not a good answer. |
