I think Jay Woodcroft would have been a good fit for his track record for developing young players. There are so many good out of the box choices. Gronborg, Kirk Muller, Pascal Vincent, Spencer Carbury, Kris Knoblauch, Jay Leach and Rocky Thompson. If they go the recycle route, I think Maurice is a better choice than Torts. Both funny and quotable but Maurice comes without the drama. Maurice gets things going in the right direction.

I find myself praying Barry Trotz gets fired. I would take him in a second.

And your obsession with trashing this organization every chance you get defines insanity.

I can't think of a single positive post you've ever made here. Yours must be a sad, lonely life.

Can you list a few positives this organization has going for them?

I’m having a hard time finding much to be positive about so please help me feel better about this team.

Gritty was a hit. Uhhh that’s about all I got.

Not even joking.

Noah Cates looks great for a 5th rounder I guess.

There are a number of young players that have promise. There was a time there was nothing in the system. That's not true anymore.
Now realizing that promise is the bumpy part of the process. I think they could have done a much better job of adding veterans to the mix and feel like the current veterans aren't going to do much other than clog up the cap space.

Does Chuck hold onto JVR til next years deadline and get something of decent value for him

Or does he try to unload him this summer for quick cap relief and a minimal return to blow right away on overpaying someone else

only person in the world with this type of "injury". He has been sent to Calcutta and Katmandu for remedies. He has spoken to the lady with the 3rd eye. He has visited the tree of woe.

It is beyond ridiculous at this point. Whatever it is they full well know what the issue is at this time.

I thought the Flyers were ranked top 5 in prospects a few years ago when Sanheim, Prov, Konecny, Hart, Allison, Patrick, Frost, Ratcliff, Rubstov, and Morin topped the list. 5 of the above are on the team but not 1 single difference maker so far. A few Prov, Hart Konecny showed promise but they seemed to have regressed or stagnated.

I hope they get someone to take charge and lead this organization out of the bottom feeders they seem to be.

will resign him to a 5/25.5 deal and call it a value signing

How much do you think they’ll pay to move up from 5 to 1 for Wright lol

Fan sentiment is that Trotz is not to blame for this year. Many think Lou erred in bringing in Chara and other near expiration date veterans. But the fans don’t decide. We’ll see.

I'd hope Sanheim and Provy keep doing whatever it is they have been doing their whole careers to avoid injury.
- Feanor

I agree about Provy. He is a huge guy actually and can be quite physical. Sanheim looks more like a professional golfer than a hockey player and should train to be bigger and stronger.

I think there has been a little too much secrecy about exactly what he's dealing with, why it's taken so long to make a decision on the best way to go forward and how we literally went from day to day in October to out for the season with no clarity whatsoever.
- bmeltzer

Maybe he can train with Frosty. He still needs to get stronger on puck with body and hands. Don't want to slow him down, but he gets pushed off his skates regularly.

Gritty was created to be a distraction to the fact the team is not good. He was also created to hopefully spark interest in the Flyers so the average age does not become old like baseballs is.

Noah Cates does look like a good addition. Kind of reminds me of when Dave Poulin joined the team for a few games at the end of his college career. We can only hope Noah comes anywhere close to that!

Flyers with 14 wins in the last 4 months. Is that true?

yeah, that is why its a prayer. I watch that team and dont see a coaching issue. By all accounts the players love him and he still has the room. It was just a perfect storm of bad things.

Still....one can dream.

It's either something along those lines where they don't know specifically what the issue is so they don't know how to treat it. Or it's something degenerative where getting surgery could mean that he might not be able to play any longer.

Your obsession with defending this dumpster fire borders on insanity.

Your obsession with ripping this dumpster fire doesn't border on insanity because it crossed that border long ago.
