I thought the Flyers were ranked top 5 in prospects a few years ago when Sanheim, Prov, Konecny, Hart, Allison, Patrick, Frost, Ratcliff, Rubstov, and Morin topped the list. 5 of the above are on the team but not 1 single difference maker so far. A few Prov, Hart Konecny showed promise but they seemed to have regressed or stagnated.

I hope they get someone to take charge and lead this organization out of the bottom feeders they seem to be.

They were, I was referring to prior to that period. Many years the Flyers traded away their #1 (and #2) picks. When they did pick in the first round they player usually went straight to the NHL. The really didn't develop anyone (no wonder why they're not really good at it now). It seems since 2014 they're more committed to draft and developing even with Chuck trading some assets to get veterans.

The Nasty Knuckles podcast episode with Carter Hart was great. Since Ellen has been cancelled after next month, I wish to recommend the Kelly Clarkson Show for next season. She is a proven winner, and we can all look forward to more of that after turning the page on the last few years. Honestly, I want to repeat that I believe in Hart. I do think he was rushed, and it’s been a bumpy ride letting him develop in the NHL with the pandemic and team dysfunction in front. Yet, I think he will come out a star on the other side. It may take 1 or 2 more years to fully show. I get that Philly isn’t known for patience with goaltending. Just this once….folks!

It's going to take however long it takes to get a solid team in front of him.

Step one-Find the right coach

Step two-Don’t trade away the defense. Work to make it better.

They did seem more interested in keeping the draft picks since Holmgren was not the GM but developing the players once they’re drafted seems to be a big miss with this team. It’s half measures due to the lack of patience with either the GM or ownership either way it still reflects badly on the team’s performance.
Sucks to be a Flyers fan! The only way it changes on my mind is if the fans stop buying the product.

You are incorrect. There were a number of years the Flyers didn't have a 1st round pick. Including one year when they didn't pick until the 3rd round.

Flyers need a top pair D there is no making it work better. Unless Ellis comes back, you arent going to get without giving.

Best you can hope for is clearing some space than taking advantage of a cap strapped team or Try to find that D.Toews type move.

Not during Fletchers tenure.

2019

1st Round: York
2nd Round: Brink
3rd Round: Attard
4th: Round: Millman
5th Round: No Pick
6th Round: Sedyuk, Ross
7th Round: Brodzinski

2020

1st Round: Foerster
2nd Round: Andrae
3rd Round: No Pick
4th: Round: Wisdom
5th Round: Desnoyers
6th Round: McClennon
7th Round: No Pick

2021

1st Round: No Pick
2nd Round: Tuomaala
3rd Round: Kolosov
4th: Round: Zanetti
5th Round: Murchison
6th Round: Samson
7th Round: McLaughlin

Despite moving a lot of 2nds, he seems to always acquire a 2nd before the draft. If you look beyond Fletcher the only other years they didnt pick 1st in the last 20 years were 2004, 2009, and 2010

Or draft Nemec or Jiricek. Either of them probably make it the NHL for at least part of next season and long term have 1st pair upside.

Both. Reduce body fat percentage slightly and add muscle at a playing weight he can maintain. Probably won't be a one-offseason process.

I still can't find the knee surgery Jiricek had to get. I'm assuming with the rehab some repair to the ACL.

Yeah, I haven’t seen specifics either. I’m sure the teams will get to review everything prior to the draft tho.

I hope they do the tank-lite by keeping high risk players like Ellis and hoping for the best.

The top 3 guys are elite next year. It's worth the risk to get one.

Even with healthy players we’re probably only still marginally better next year. They should be in the conversation

Do you realize how rare it is for a D man to play any significant amount of games in the NHL in the season after their draft? There has been a total of 4 in the past 10 years.

Well it’s not like there should be any rush on them anyway with the state of this team. It would not surprise me to see Nemec in the league next year at all.

There's no reason to tank anymore - so many teams did it so much they've altered the draft to stop teams from doing that. Would be great to snag the 1/2/3 pick but who knows.

I mean if you’re one of the worst two teams in the league you’re still not picking any worse than 4th. Tanking still pays off more than it doesn’t.
