People have been critical of him since he broke into the league, particularly in the analytics community. He's always been inconsistent and his underlying numbers have always been poor.

Up until this season, Sanheim like Provy has been inconsistent. Sometimes Sanheim had stretches of games that he tripped and fell repeatedly, had major gaffes and was outmuscled on the regular. He was never healthy scratched as others were for similar bad play. Sanheim got a consistent partner in the middle pairing this year and at 26, he finally showed consistency over a decent span of games. Not really bad plus really good games either. I agree that he carried the pair as expected, but Risto is an experienced NHL physical defenseman who can also move the puck. The pairing didn’t grade out that well in the league, but Sanheim played well and that is wonderful.

You can be happy about that and still recognize that it was a far different circumstance for Provy who was not give Risto as a consistent partner or played in middle pairing matchups. You can also recognize that Provy is a year younger, and maybe, just maybe, you see his best season at 26, next year.

Both Sanheim and Ivan just leave you wanting more.

The best part is when they have a better record next year, they'll tell you it was all the hard work and changes they made in the off season.... and ignore the last two years.

Well, I think its important to be fair here. Every GM, and I mean, every GM would have traded for Ellis last season. We saw what this team looked like with a healthy enough to play Ellis (well I guess now we realize he was never healthy) playing regular shifts. RR is polarizing, but he is not as bad as some on here make him out to be and I think he has more positives than negatives (I still would not have resigned him), and Atkinson was a good hockey trade that really helped the Flyers. Yandle is a complete disaster and will go down as one of Fletcher's worst moves in his entire career. Thompson is a good depth center that is good on faceoffs, good on the PK and heavy to play against. Jones was more than a capable backup, and played really well this year. Seeler was picked up as a depth defenseman and if he was limited to that role would have been fine, unfortunately he was forced to play many more games and minutes than he was ever intended to. So if you look at the off season in an objective way, it was a very good off season for Fletcher, it just didn't work out for a number of reasons, the top 2 being 1. injuries to key players for long periods of time and 2. the team quickly developed a disdain for AV.

I stopped reading after the first sentence. If that was true, the return Nashville received for Ellis would've been much, much better. LOL

A troll is "a person who makes a deliberately offensive or provocative online posts." I hope no one is offended by my posts or consider them provocative, that is certainly not my intention. I am serious in my opinion of Fletcher's last off season. Jake Voracek has scored a total of 27 goals the past three seasons and only 6 goals this season, while Atkinson scored 23 goals this season alone and would have had more if he didn't get hurt. By my standards, that was a good hockey trade for the Flyers. Ellis had some injuries but nothing like he experienced this season and I don't how any GM would have been able to predict this would happen to him. Anyone who claims otherwise is just relying on hindsight. The price for RR was steep and though I was optimistic earlier in the season, after watching him play it was too high of a price. However RR still did a lot of good things for this team this year and I still believe he can be a really solid player on a good team that is well coached. I had no problem getting out from under Ghost's contract and Hagg is nothing more than a marginal NHL defenseman IMO, in fact I think he was only thrown into the deal to make the cap work.

What about the 54 assists Voracek racked up. Why did you ignore that? Ristolainen is a mediocre player who made no difference on the Flyers defense. He will not improve. He will degrade as a player.

There are many ways to look at events, many different perspectives. Your perspective is based on your hatred of Fletcher and desire for him to get canned. I understand your frustration as a fan and I share it. I try to look at things more objectively, trying my best to ignore my own personal biases. If you and others feel sorry for me because I do this, Ok I guess, but I'm not going apologize for how I try to look at things.

Every time someone makes legitimate criticisms of Fletcher. You spin it as hatred of Fletcher. Why would a fan not like a GM and want him fired. Because they don't like the suits he wears or how he styles his hair?



You're opinions are not objective. They're misguided and filled with bias.

Thing is, it looks like Fletcher knew about the issues and decided it was risk worth making. Best case they get the D they need and give up nothing in NoPa and Myers. Worst case he's LTIR for the remainder of his contract. If he cant play again, Capped out teams would love to take those contracts like Tampa took Seabrook. Chicago ended up getting TyJo and 2023 2nd for the dead contract.

Yahoo Yoe wins the half-baked tank approach award. Some will miss YoE. When they see the coach wasn't the problem, but this awful composed and extremely mixed bag roster was. Vs Pens and G last hurrah vs Preds they looked like something. We will see down this long and windy road ahead.

How am I apologizing for the Flyers? We suck but often a lot of the things people B*tch about, other teams fans do as well. This isnt the end of times. The Flyers arent in good shape. Unless they get lucky with some of the young guys, they still need 2-3 top level players. A top pair D and two Top end forwards.

We arent the Early 2010s Toronto Maple Leafs where Bozak was their #1C with Kessel.

We have talent on this roster. Flyers job is to find those pieces that this talent can build around. Those pieces are best obtained via the draft however we are likely to go after them via FA/trade which can be fine if they are the right moves.

If you are giving up a 1st it has to be a young potential\current star.

From top to bottom, I have no idea what this is suppose to mean. Chris Pronger was pretty active with the team even after his career ending injury.

JvR has 9 power play goals this season on a poop power play and now leads the team in goals. This doesn’t piss anyone off other than myself? JvR has a lot of shortcomings but when your power play is trash and you’re not using your most effective weapon, that just goes on along grocery list of why you need to be fired.
