I live in a small community in Southern Ontario. My brother bought a house for a bit over 400k just before covid. Same house could sell for probably 600-700k now.

Have houses going for 150-200k over asking. And they aren't houses that should be going for 150k over asking.

built a house for 415 4 years ago.. worth about 450 on completion of construction now is listed on zillow for 630 and they don't even know it has a finished basement.. i could probably ask 750 - 800.. double what i paid for it 4 years ago

Supply and demand. Everything is expensive right now. There are shortages on materials everywhere. Your paying double for almost everything.

Quick's family is in the northeast. Sabres are (actually) up and coming. If the Kings don't want him, I think it's reasonable to think he'd consider waiving for Buffalo.

He provides celery for the floor and a veteran, Cup presence for UPL. We don't have any goalie prospects for next year that he'd be getting in the way of. Levi and Portillo will be playing in school.

its currently a better deal to build a new home where I live..

i also didn't jump into buying a home right away. saved for like 5 years to get the down payment bought a small home lived in it for 4 or 5 years, sold it after the crash in 2009 (i had to take 25k to closing) to upgrade to a bigger fixer upper, lived there while working on it for about 5 years sold that and got a check to 60k used that along with other money that i saved to build the house i plan to die in about 5 years ago

dont worry the county re-assessed my house and jacked my taxes up so that when the bubble inevitably bursts and the prices come back down a little they wont have missed out on the higher price from right now

The past 2 years have been monumental

It's like Florida and Texas had a lovechild and didn't want it and dropped it off at an orphanage in the Midwest and no one adopted it and now it's just sitting here screaming into the wind "HEY GUYS MY ECONOMY IS SUPER GOOD WHY DON'T YOU LIKE ME?" as it cuts across two lanes on the highway with no turn signal and flies into that one car length that's open between you and the car in front of you, almost causing a 50 car pileup before swiftly merging all the way back to the right in front of a semi, again with no directional, because that's the exit they wanted. And it goes nowhere. And then Ohio goes home and wonders why no one likes it here. And then it cries itself to sleep in it's Ohio State bed set.

Guess, depends on what your Company does. But that also goes into supply and demand in housing. More people buying then selling. Material cost to build houses, etc etc.
