It's a fine line between cynicism and realism. I expect very little in terms of meaningful upgrades this offseason.
Just reading the tea leaves from KA - Hank Balling
something something something
we took a step in the right direction

I have a few decisions to make this summer
something something something
kids played really hard and started to come together

my job is to get us to compete for a playoff spot for 12 months from now

What's good for the Sabres would be management who actually tries to ice a winning team and knows what the (frank) they're doing.
Until then, I don't give a poop about pick 24 or 32, as it won't matter. - kingcong39
And what does that have to do with my or your rooting interest? If you don’t care ignore the series or don’t. Doesn’t bother me. Go piss in someone else’s cornflakes, a good thing happened for the Sabres tonight, whether you think it did or not. |

Cool, don’t care. I care about what’s good for the Sabres. And if they eventually win a cup clutch and grab style I’d still take it. Pick 24 will be substantially better than 30/32. - SDSabre
Do you have a crystal ball telling you this? How do you know that? |

Cool, then again why waste time responding if that’s how you feel. Read it, move on. Or don’t and we can talk about the different prospects available at 24 v later. Btw, I’m on the Sabres getting better train, sooner rather than later. And maybe the prospects available at 24 v later won’t matter. Pick 24 is like a condom to me. Rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Also, if the pick is used in a trade, think teams value it more if it’s 24? Or if Adams sees a prospect he likes and wants to move up, maybe a little easier. Again, if you don’t care, fine. I do. |

The person picked at 24 v 32 may not be. The value of the pick is. You wanna keep going or you done arguing just to do it? |

I guess I'm in the minority:
I sign goaloffson , play him top 6
I keep mitts and watch him develop
Keep larry selke
Keep zem gir
Keep joker in the top 4
Sign a good goaltender who likes the buffalo Bill's
A veteran #5 mark prysk (but actually tough and good)
Play the dahlin power samuelsson joker all the important minutes.
Playoff chasing in the thick of it team

This is a terrible take. Is this gonna be the summer conversation, firing KA for not making trades? |

I'd say the bar is set at "not Aaron Dell"
Plenty of fans would welcome back Anderson as a legitimate option. I'm not one of them - Hank Balling
There wasn't a huge difference between Anderson, Dell, and Tokarski. All this Anderson talk has to drive their analytics guys crazy.

I mean I’d rather pick 24th over 32nd.

I’m done because it wasn’t a different perspective and was just argumentative to be that way. Have a good one. |

Would you rather KA blow a bunch of smoke?
He's very gee golly buffalo and likable. - Boss34
There's very little difference between what JB, KA, and Ralph say. It works when there's 0 pressure and no expectations. At some point, the questions will get tougher and more difficult to deflect. It might not happen until year 4, which is crazy to think about.

I appreciate your perspective. Guys could definitely step back under pressure.
Being a huge fan and generally positive, I overlook scenarios where the team could be set up for failure.
This group is different IMO |

Anderson discussed that in his interview. Worth a listen.

Caps were a bad draw for the Panthers. Caps will grind them down. Florida loves soft players! - Hatboro_Swords
I thought you were supposedly the all-knowing one? (Self proclaimed anyway )
Your first sentence isn’t really wrong, but your next two are pure manure.
It wasn’t about being ground down, it was a little over passing, when a good shot was there, a couple bad mistakes at the worst place (like the terrible giveaway on the tying goal). They just weren’t on top of their game tonight. Oh, and Washington isn’t a bad team, either. 8th seed @ 100 points for the season, there’s no easy opponent in the East bracket. If the Panthers do not advance, it won’t be because they got ground down. |
