Sure, we didnt have a 6'7 machine at 1C scoring 38 at the time.
Not sure what this has to do with 2015 and expecting 2 guys with 9 games of experience to play top 6 minutes.
Maybe I'm higher on quinn ? - Boss34
The point is, if drafting a #1 potential franchise player, like Eichel was supposed to be, doesn't stop you from adding to your top 6, neither should a guy drafted 7 overall 2 years ago. He still has to earn it.
A lot can happen with Quinn between now and October. He could get hurt again. He could have a lousy training camp. He could also put up 15 points in the preseason. At worst, you have a contingency plan. At best, you just made your top 6 a whole lot better with Quinn and an acquisition. This team finished 25 points out of a playoff spot with a -58 goal differential. Improved goaltending will only make up part of that gap. They still need to score more goals. They have 3, maybe 4 forwards that you can rely on to do that right now. |

I would guess both byson and Fitzgerald would become better players with more nhl ice time and seaonasoning?
No different than other players.
The top 4 including joker ( 5 including a trade for a scrappy vet d ) will play the majority of the game.
Bryson is fine for a 6
Fitz for a healthy scratch.
Specifically I like Bryson's speed and vision
Fitzgerald toughness and willngness to fight for a teammate - Boss34
All of this is so wrong. Bryson is Paetsch all over again and Fitzgerald is dumb as a brick.
Ideally, Joker is our 5th. So that leaves Dahlin, Samuelsson and Power in our top-4. I'm not opposed to bringing back Miller for that 6th spot.
We need a top-4 D-man bad.
Dahlin/Samuelsson
Power/Veteran
Jokiharju/Miller
Top-6 forward group is
Skinner/Thompson/Olofsson
???/???/Tuch
We need two top-6 forwards, ideally.
So, a top-4 defenseman, two top-6 forwards and a starting goalie. We need 4 players this summer. If KA doesn't do this, then sbroads might actually be onto something.
We absolutely should overpay for Kadri. Him and Thompson can switch between top line duties. That's one top-6 forward. Then we should sign P.K. Subban. Top-4 defense taken care of. That leaves two positions to fill: Goalie and top-6 forward. Can one of the young guys have a breakout year like Thompson? Maybe Krebs, maybe Quinn? I think they should be on our 3rd line, however. Krebs/Mitts/Quinn with Girgs/Asplund/Okposo as our 4th.
Strome, Copp, Trocheck, Palat, Niederreitter... Those are the types of players we should be targeting if Kadri isn't going to happen. Gustafsson, Gudbranson... I expect names like that for our defense targets.
Holtby on a short-term deal, if Tuch really can convince MAF to come here for a year, those would be ideal.

I just see 2 depth guys without a long term future here. If they had cap problems, you could live with them. We have the opposite.

4th line
I don't see where we can add up front. Theres really no reason to be hasty with Krebs, Mitts, Cozens.
Olof is the only place we can upgrade since he might be on the outs but id rather keep him. 20+ goal scorers aren't growing on trees. |

Do other teams have top 6 players playing on the 3rd line in case of injuries?

Does anyone listen to KA... like I know you heard him but do you actually listen.... He's putting these kids in positions to succeed... he's not adding players that will block development.

There are rumors all over Canadian media that Mark Scheifele is heading out of Winnipeg. Not that I think Adams lacks the intestinal fortitude to go out and acquire someone like that, but if it were on the table, are we really saying we shouldn't get him because we wouldn't be putting Jack Quinn in a position to succeed? |

the 2 years prior to this were not full seasons so Tuch is kinda void. He did have a hurt shoulder but those aren't to bad. Mine only bothers me when I'm awake.
Casey hernia. Not to concerning
Quinn hernia/mono not concerning
Olof had a hurt wrist and once fully healthy was 2x the player he was before. |

I don't find the guy that interesting imo. I'd probably use Mitts to get him but not too much more. Defensively a train wreck and doesn't seem to be too likable. Lazy. |

Quinn first and foremost needs to prove he can be healthy let alone a top 6 forward |
