Well, after 20 years, that’ll do it.

A long-desired move to a different job at The Athletic has come through. The search for the next Sabres writer is underway, and hopefully they make as many memories and friends as I did. Thanks for reading these past two decades.

It’s that a lot of this penciled in roster for 2022/23 is completely unproven and leaving spots open for them when upgrades could/will be available is really a short sighted vision

I’d argue it actually far more short sighted to be bringing in UFAs unless they’re top tier guys
This team isn’t ready for the Riley Smith’s of the league to be able to make a difference
And it’s not going to be if Adams is choosing winning a few more games over developing the young talent here

Fitz was great, his toe-tuck move to tie it was something I didn't think he had in his game. Belleville dominated OT, Dell made a few great saves, a dman made a save on a wide open net and right before the winner, Belleville hit a goalpost. goal was a simple shot frpm the point with Ruutsolanen cleaning up the rebound. Very similar to Mitts OY goal in the Sabres last game.

That was a big game for Amerks to win. Next two are in Belleville. Hopefully just the next one. Belleville is better on the road than at home. I’m learning so much!

The Panthers had the luxury of being able to give only two guys(forwards, obviously) light first round minutes.

They had 2 guys score at least 30 goals playing less than 18 minutes a night and one of them barely played 15.

It's easy to have internal competition when you have such an embarrassment of riches.

That’s why KA needs to add pieces without worrying about “blocking” young prospects.
“Don’t want to block them” implies that roster spots will be handed out and not earned. If they can’t beat out a guy KA brings in, then so be it.
