Who said that wasn’t enough?
I was told to not expect that and it can’t be done.

This is what Broads, myself and others are asking for.

- ImThatGuy

That's not the question I'm asking nor am I making any assumptions. I feel a bit differently than you guys, and so be it.

I'm simply asking, if adding those specific pieces isn't good enough, what is "good enough"?

According to lacaprup, Kane will want to come here so he can "retire" in his home town, and "prove" to people that he can deliver a Cup to Buffalo. As for the rest of the names I mentioned, yes, it's about money and "proving" that they can elevate a mediocre team.

Basically, again, according to lacaprup, it's about winning now, not just barely making it into the playoffs.

So based on Paul's opinion, your opinion is to throw 32 million dollars at Gaudreau, Bergeron and Fleury, as well as take on Kane's 10.5, and that will fix the Sabres? And they're all signing those cause they #WTBH?

Again, according to lacaprup, these moves will fix the Sabres.

Personally, I don't believe that these moves will fix the Sabres. Adams has to aggressively fill the holes in goal, Top 6 and D, but it has to be done wisely. Trading for pending UFAs and giving mega deals is not going to help the team right now. It would be like when the Bills signed Mario Williams when they didn't have a QB or a complete team around him. Guess what? It made little to no difference for those Bills teams to have Mario.

I actually agree with that. I mean if Pat Kane wasn't too expensive I'd look at it, with the assurance he stays beyond next season. I don't see Bergeron leaving, I don't see JG leaving, especially for Buffalo, I don't see Malkin leaving.. Fleury I suppose is possible, depending what he wants to do with his family. Buffalo's in the northeast so it's not too far from Quebec. He's got a few miles left in him, but I can't tell if he'd be any better than Grandpa Andy. Maybe more healthy, who knows.

Bringing in MAF is the only one of lacaprup's proposals that I could see happening. As far as Kane goes, yeah, you'd have to get him to sign at least a 3-year extension. I mean, just imagine if Adams trades Krebs (that's what lacaprup wants more than anything) and multiple picks for Kane, but he doesn't sign an extension. If the team is out of playoff contention by Christmas, then you're looking at moving Kane at the deadline, just like Hall.

To add on to this, it doesn't seem like teams in big markets will ever embrace a full rebuild even though they should (specifically Chicago and Philly). If you call Chicago about Kane they are starting with Cozens and Samuelsson and then adding from there.

lacaprup would do that. He said he would trade ANY of the Sabres young forwards (except for Skinner, Thompson, Tuch and VO) for Kane.

Yes, it was a good conversation.

The standard in the league is 4 big pieces for star players. The insiders have said that teams usually start with Cozens.

You know what would suck? Leaving when the game was 3-0 Belleville. That would suck. Only a stupendous ass would do that.

Real Madrid fans did that last night against Manchester City and missed the goals to take then to extra time and then win to go to the UEFA finals

For a 33.5yr old guy with 1 year left on his contract...

I'm moreso curious of his presumed departure than whether he'd be a good fit here. i've softened my stance on acquiring him since seeing our potential with Sam Dahl and Pow

They should. However if they did embrace a full rebuild I'd send them a 1st and JJ. That team is weird though. They went all in this year and flopped like last year's Sabres. So I'm not entirely sure how they attack the offseason.

I know I said Tuch should be the next captain simply because of age but it's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore Kyle here.

Replace JJ with Krebs, and you'd make lacaprup a very happy man.

if kyle plays healthy in 22-23

you have to bring him back on a 1 year 3 mil contract, right?

I think you would it would need to be "and" instead of "instead". And probably another youngin and a first. That doesn't work, especially since Kane is a FA in a year.

He can stick around till retirement. No problem with him on my 4th line till whenever he feels his time is done.

Ain't no team trading 4 1sts or the equivalent for 1 year of Kane.
