Ain't no team trading 4 1sts or the equivalent for 1 year of Kane.
- DirtyDan

Maybe, maybe not - it might depend on an extension. They would be looking for at least 3 pieces and 2 of them would need to be top prospects.

Interesting, Central Scouting ranks came out:

NA
Wright
Cooley
Gauthier
Savoie
Geekie
Mityukov
Korchinski

INT
Slafkovsky
Kemell
Nemec
Jiricek
Kasper

Gauthier over Savoie is a head scratcher to me. But thought I share since I was told Nemec/Jiri are gone in the top5 for sure...CS disagrees.

Frank Nazar ranked 21st North American skater had me spit out my coffee.

If that is how scouts see the draft, the Sabres should absolutely keep all of their picks.

Just have to hope our scouts take advantage

Where does Central Scouting rank the players overall, and not just based on region?

Bringing in MAF is the only one of lacaprup's proposals that I could see happening. As far as Kane goes, yeah, you'd have to get him to sign at least a 3-year extension. I mean, just imagine if Adams trades Krebs (that's what lacaprup wants more than anything) and multiple picks for Kane, but he doesn't sign an extension. If the team is out of playoff contention by Christmas, then you're looking at moving Kane at the deadline, just like Hall.
- RichardRoma

I think maybe we look to acquire pat kane at the deadline. if the Sabres are playing good hockey and chicago is out.

No extension, less assets at the tdl

looking at the teams 2-7

I would not be shocked if any of those teams grab one of the 2 RD once Slafkovsky is off the board

They don't do overall rankings. Its not accurate for the draft as they separate the prospects.

I agree he should be higher, just surprised at how many people thought the draft order this year was set, it really isn't.

That's my point with RhinoQuinnCultMember trying to claim those rankings make it clear that Nemec and Jiricek are lower down draft boards.

How does what you provides prove that Nemec and Jiricek won't be drafted in the top 5?

There's surely a chance. Wright, Slaf, Nemec, Jiri could be our top4...I just highly doubt it. I think the forwards just have a lot higher ceiling the Jiricek. Nemec is the right handed prize of the top10 IMO.

Teams are in love with size and ability on defense, and Jiricek has both.

I mean Central Scouting have been putting out cracked out rankings for as long as I can remember though.

Bob McKenzie’s draft rankings will be closer to reality

To your earlier point, there are going to be a number of quality prospects available when the Sabres use the Vegas and Florida picks.

I'm glad Adams mentioned they're likely making those picks as it could solidify their future as an organization.

Patience

I'd say f that....its been since 2007 the patience level is gone... The sabres have no excuses anymore NONE.

Adams did say though if the right deal came along he would consider it though, I’m not sure why there has been such a commotion about the last few days in these threads.

Rochester is bones dry, all of our recent top picks will be on the big club, or in Europe, I don’t see an issue at all in stock piling our prospect cupboards.

Don't get me wrong he's a top10 pick all day and I'd be happy for the Sabres to get him. He just doesn't have the potential of the top 7 forwards IMO.

You can't possibly give up major assets to get him in the hopes that he wants to stick around.

6'3 RHD who is mobile. He will be coveted. Only reason he would drop is because of his Knee but he is on the WC Czech training roster so that shouldn't be a problem.

If there's this many differences amongst the experts, IMO, they're all cracked out.

And Bob never had him top5 when I looked, I believe he's 7th right now. Not a big deal either way.

if kyle plays healthy in 22-23

you have to bring him back on a 1 year 3 mil contract, right?

- homiedclown

for sure.
