Maybe with the Vegas pick, he's far too slow. He's getting points for being big and having great hands, but he has a longggg way to go. It was his most negative scouting report I've seen, but I really do believe most of this is spot on:

“If I were an NHL team with a top 20 pick, I would hesitate to draft Geekie. It’s easy to be enamored with the size and skill, but under the surface, you have a player that’s going to take a long time to get to a top-six role at the NHL level. Geekie could easily peak as a third-line player in the NHL, which, in this scout’s opinion, is not worth a top 20 pick. The Hawks aren’t getting 4 pieces for him, but they’re also not getting a 3rd and Bjork for him like the Sabres got for Hall.

A trade for Kane no matter where he goes looks like a top 10 protected 1st, a decent prospect (Rousek) and a 3rd round pick.

Chicago isn’t going to get an Eichel like return for him. He has one year left, has a full NMC and is 33 years old.

Is there some kind of NHL Draft version of the NFL draft value chart? I am wondering how high our three first round picks at roughly 9, 16, and 30ish gets you moving up.

C'mon ref, you can't be serious that that return. Assuming a contract extension, they are absolutely getting an Eichel-ish return for a future Hall of Famer that still has a lot left in the tank. The guy is an elite scorer. Hell, he would get a return better than that at the trade deadline without an extension.

Yeah problem is the top 3 picks are worth more in the NHL. Half the time the NFL team with the top pick would love to trade out. In the NHL almost no one seriously considers it.
